Suspicious kidney problem?
A patient of mine is suffering from periodical severe kidney region
pain, mainly left, making him moan and groan, and vomit, and various
other standard kidney stone symptoms. Mentally/emotionally he could be
part Nux, part Sulf and part Lyc, he’s a true Aries. One peculiar thing,
though, is that although he would like to drink, drinking just one beer
one evening tends to aggravate the pain (3). And for this symptom, the
repertory (Cara, computer programm) doesn’t help. He has had all
possible examinations, also the ‘painful’ internal ones, and scans,
etc., and nothing shows up. He is hard working, responsible, rather
intellectual, has an open eye for the needs of others, can very well be
rude to those that he feels deserve blunt words (irrespective of their
position) (a usually amicable Aries) and it seems business stress < his
symptoms. During severe pain << he has had quite a number of heavy
morphine suppositories, as a last pain killing resort, aliviating the
pain, but of course making him feel and act as a zombie.
I‘m suspicious about < of pain from flushing the kidneys/drinking more
than usual, because I think that unless there is some sort of
obstruction, either in the kidneys or in the ureters, drinking a bit
more than usual should *not* cause more pain. But it does. And so far,
examinations haven’t shown obstructions, stones, or whatever.
I would be grateful for any insights, especially about the < from
drinking more than usual, like maybe stress causing ureter
constrictions, suffering from overwhelming responsibilities, and fluid
intake/kidney reactions following from that, and maybe some other
psychological/physical relations that might be applicable, etc. In
short: “What is going on here”, see?
If needed, please ask me some more questions.

Re: Suspicious kidney problem?
Hi Hennie
You say he likes to drink. Does he especially like to drink beer?
The picture you describe made me think of Kali-bi, which has the agg
but also the desire of beer.
And that combined with the kidneypain and responsibility makes it a
remedy that might be worth reading.

He doesn't like beer, especially (as a matter of fact he's more a (good)
cognac drinker), but he's afraid to drink, because it will cause more
pain. But from responsibility etc. he could very well be a kali-type.
I'll sleep on it.
Thank you,
Hennie

I have a feeling he is presenting a far more composed image of himself
than actually true. He seems to be in control, but others say he is
starting from trifles. Need to dig in more, I think.
Thank you,
Hennie

Strange, rare and peculiar symptom
In this case make sure that drinking beer is really the symptom-
does this occur with all alcoholic drinks, or with large quantities
of any liquid

Re: Suspicious kidney problem?
Hi Hennie
Sounds like this person could have what is called renal colic/nephralgia.
There is quite an array of rems under kidney pain, or pain cramping etc....
However, with pain as severe as that, I would be treating it as an acute
initially.
Look for direction of pain, whether lasting or intermittent, any urine
changes that may accompany, etc......
Some well known rems for acute renal colic are, subject to their particular
presentation:
Pareira Brava 1x 5 – 10 drops every 15 mins
Equisetum 1x for acute, and 30 c if more chronic
Berberis
Cantharis
Sars
Thuja
Tabacum
Med
Phos ac
And many more, but these are tried and tested for acute pain.
Lilienthal has a small enough list to choose from p.767.
In peace
Robyn
