A lot of Computer Viruses replicate by sending themselves to all the email addresses on the infected computer.

One way to avoid this is to create an email address in your email address list which is unsuitable. The best is !!0000000

Nothing more.

When the virus hits and manages to infect your system, it will try to send itself to all addresses on your list in order.

But !!00000 is at top position so that the list can not be executed. Your computer will then advise you that it could not send the msg to !!00000 and therefore you will know that your system is infected.

This is simple, cheap and effective at stopping the spread.
