How Homeopathy Works - (was Fungus what would you do homeopathic)

Hi everyone (and Irene),
Just a quick post from me. Luise is correct in what she has said. Both are
needed.
Hahnemann teaches that the disease is obliterated by an energetically
stronger remedy by its similarity (read aphorisms on stronger/weaker
diseases and similar/dissimilar diseases) AND THEN as the artificial and
temporary disease created by the remedy wanes and leaves the body, the vital
force rebounds against it also to replace it and restore health (read
aphorisms on primary and secondary actions).
Imagine a car and truck crash as an analogy - a truck (the disease) hits the
car (the body) and dents it. The car cannot do anything about removing the
truck that stops its normal operations. A tow truck (stronger and similar
disease in the form of a remedy) is called to pull away the truck. As this
happens, the car rebounds (the secondary action of the vital force) to help
push the truck away and restore the dent - something it had been trying to
do all along but could not without help (obviously this is where the analogy
breaks down as cars cannot really do this but you get the picture.)
Another partial analogy - a man (vital force and body) is bent double by a
very heavy table (disease) and is ineffectively struggling to lift it off
himself. In the process he is injuring himself further - in this instance,
strained muscles, herniated disc, hernia, etc (the symptoms of our energetic
struggle, although indicating positive efforts by the VF, often damage us
physically). Someone comes along externally and not realising what the
problem is, sits on the table to stop it jiggling and bouncing around
(dissimilar/stronger remedy - ie, suppression by allopathy). Only when a
person comes along and creates more jiggling and movement by helping to lift
the table off the man (the similar/stronger remedy) can the problem be
resolved. As the table is being lifted externally, the man bent double under
it also pushes (rebound/secondary action of the vital force) to help free
himself and finally stand upright (fully restored health). Note that two
things were needed - if only the table was removed, the man would still have
been bent double. He also had to help push and stand upright in his own
strength.
In the treatment of chronic disease we see this process happening partially
and repeatedly - ie, the truck is removed bit by bit and the dent restored
bit by bit, or by repeated rocking movements of the man and his helper to
finally lift the table off him (as in a one, two, three .... effect). In
these instances, it is as if a weakened VF is being exercised like a muscle
by gentle repetitions of the remedy to strengthen it until it is strong
enough to help fully lift the table off and hold balance long-term by
itself.
Only when these concepts (weaker/stronger diseases, similar/dissimilar
remedies, and primary/secondary actions) are understood can we then
correctly understand and interpret the responses to the remedy (similar
aggravations, dissimilar aggravations, accessory symptoms, palliation,
suppression, provings, cure, etc). This is all basic homeopathy taught in
the Organon and during first year in better homeopathic courses. Without
understanding and working with these concepts we are not really doing
homeopathy - we are only prescribing potentised remedies in a hit and miss
affair and producing new theories to explain why they do or do not work. I
have not had much time to post recently - and will not have much time in the
future - but I had wanted to write about some of these basic concepts in the
past, Irene, to explain that some of the models you have proposed do not
incorporate them so there is the potential to miss the best of what
homeopathy has to offer.
Kind regards,
Fran Sheffield
