Hi List memebers,
Recently I bought a package of new empty amber bottles made from regular (not neutral) glass, from a company who sells its bottles to some of the world's most known homeopathic manufacturers.
Many of you have teire remedies, I guess.
After touching about 20 bottles and putting caps on them -- I noticed that my fingers have a sour or acidic smell.
I washed my hands carefully, took 10 other bottles, rubbed them with my fingers and found out that the same acidic/sour smell is sticking to my fingers. I inserted a piece of cotton on a stick and rubbed the inside of the bottles and the same smell appeared on the cotton.
I went to the supermarket and rubbed new glasses made from clear glass, and found out that this sour smell sticks to my fingers.
I will wash my bottles and remove this acidic coating. But the real issue is that these homeopathic manufacturers told me that they do not wash their bottle at all. I wonder about the possible effects on their remedies.
Can anyone explain if this acidic/sour smell is *Natural* for the amber glass bottles?
What are these bottles made of?
Can this smell affect or harm the remedies?
(I send this post again with changes to clarify the problem).
Thanks in advance.
Rafy

Dear Rafy
I have never seen such a thing in any of my remedy vials, which come from 4-5 different pharmacies. So it seems that it has happened recently with a few of their vials, maybe by mistake. I think you should contact the manufacturer and inform them of the problem, so they can stop the spread of these bottles.
