Dear Solara,
My original email below simply asked you (or someone at NBHE) to
explain why NBHE exists when there are other organizations that already do
the same work. You could have seen this as a great opportunity, but
instead, you chose to attack me and get extremely defensive. But even
worse, you showed that you do not seem to know that NASH works closely with
the CHC (Council for Homeopathic Certification) which certifies ALL licensed
and unlicensed homeopaths.
The sad news here is that NBHE members do not seem to know much
about other homeopathic organizations (I think that YOU were the only member
of NBHE at this year's conference, and typically, NONE of your members
attend them). If NBHE wants support from the homeopathic community, you
have to give it and you have to work with other organizations. In fact,
before you attended the conference, I personally talked with you and
encouraged you to meet with the NASH and CHC board members. I am curious if
you did so, though I sense that you missed this opportunity again.
Your attack on me reminds me about a previous experience that I had
many years ago with a NBHE board member who responded to an article that I
wrote for HOMEOPATHY TODAY in which I listed leading homeopathic certifying
organizations. I chose to not list the NBHE because, in my opinion, they
have not worked with other homeopathic organizations and that they are
simply providing a lower-grade certification process as compared with other
groups. The NBHE board member wrote a "letter to the editor" and complained
Dana Ullman omitted reference to the NBHE and that "SHE" doesn't know
anything about homeopathy.
I am an active proponent of collaboration amongst homeopaths, but I
am also against organizations that seem to be replicating services,
especially when they are not doing a good job at it (at least not yet).
Please know that I wish you and NBHE well, and I sincerely hope
that you get your act together, that you do so in collaboration with other
homeopathic organizations, that you do not get defensive when people ask
GOOD questions, and that you stop flaming and start working.
Finally, please do not question my efforts to collaborate with
homeopathic organizations. My history of activism speaks for itself. For
the record, this last conference was co-sponsored by 11 homeopathic
organizations! We purposefully didn't invite the NCHE, nor if the NBHE even
request collaboration with us. The writing is on the wall.

Dana,
This kind of talk on this list is very surprising to me. Why you
didn't call me to discuss this instead of posting it online?
and have
HANP,
Solara or
Your comments are uncalled for on a list of this magnitude and does
not show unity and respect. Your behavior borders on flaming our
professional organization. You preach unifying homeopathy. You're
wanting us to promote your upcoming book to unify homeopathy with the
general public, something that I agreed with. Yet you attack a
professional organization that promotes homeopathic standards. Why?
In the past you said there is too much discord among homeopaths and
homeopathic organizations. I said in my posts that I have given
referrals to the other boards when appropriate. Why are you opposed to
the professional organization that promotes the certification of all
medical professional's. We all serve a purpose.
NASH was founded 1990, and certifies both professional and lay people.
HANP The Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (HANP) is a
specialty society within the profession of naturopathic medicine, and
is affiliated with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
AIH is for
The American Institute of Homeopathy, a 501(C)6 trade association
whose membership comprises medical and osteopathic physicians,
dentists, advanced practice nurses, and physician assistants, NOT ALL
legally recognized physicians in this country.
The NBHE incorporated in 1987 is open to all physicians D.C., R.Ph.,
M.D, D.O., A.P., N.D., D.O.M., D.V.M., D.D.S, D.M.D., and PhD and we
are committed to unifying the profession worldwide. We DO NOT
duplicate any organization that you mentioned.
I am open to a discussion but please let's take this off list.
Sincerely,
Solara Attatharya, DOM, AP, DNBHE
