[SPAM?] losing friends because of homeopathy

Post by Dale Moss »

I lost my first husband because of my interest in homeopathy.
Of course, that's not the whole story. He would have taken up cudgels against anything that engaged my attention and passion. But that's because of who he is; it has nothing to do with homeopathy.
The same might be true of your "friend." Sometimes people are looking for an excuse to break off a relationship and they seize upon anything that will provide a justification for their actions. Folks who are rigid and self-righteous don't make the truest of friends.
Peace,
Cinnabar

My father was also the Arsen alb type - and died of an illness I'd call
Arsen alb - but he chose to die rather than take the homeopathic remedy.

Hi Dale, Helen,
Just to add my two-pennyworth.
I remember a friend, a long time ago now, when she embarked on her
homeopathic training telling me that she had been told that most
marriages (or long-term relationships) tended to break up when one of
them undertook homeopathic training/treatment. Looking back now, I
remember thinking it wouldn't be me, but can laugh now (ironically) at
such lack of insight.
We were told at College it was like going on a journey of
self-discovery and that has been the case; when you become integrated
and more the person you were supposed to be, I guess it stands to
reason !
To the poignant case mentioned by Helen, can I just add -- whatever
your friend is 'going through', it is not about you. It is never
about you, only what you symbolise (to them - usually a threat to
their status quo).
If anyone else tries to scapegoat us in life, it is a projection of
their own fear usually. In the case you give, it sounds like one of
pushing the boundaries for the friend in question about what is, and
what is not, acceptable with regards to healthcare. To decide you
were 'not doing it right', or anything else (according to her
criterion) is what is known as being in your business, judgmental and
tells you more about your friend than it says about you. Whether she
is genuinely frightened for your child or not, those are HER fears,
and if she finds it difficult to have to look at them.... well, it is
in your best interests that you do recognise that there is no way
forward with someone who is not open to looking at her own stuff.
The only person who can ostracise you, is you. You can turn it around
to being a positive in that you remain clear and determined in your
path about what is right for you and your child. Others will note
that and be attracted to it - those who are more 'open' that is. :-)
Good luck Helen in your determination. Hope helpful anyway.

Kind regards, Barbara
