Re[2]: remedy reaction@Gail

Post by Fran Sheffield »

Hi all,

This is in response to the discussion of about 3 weeks ago regarding
an Australian trial on a combination remedy of Rhus and Bry in both
30C and 200C potencies - have only just had time to dig it out. I am
contributing this NOT in support practitioner prescriptions of combos
but to clarify what was said about the trial. I also find it
interesting that Bry and Rhus have antidotal effects with each other -
a point not mentioned or considered in the trial. I do wonder
difference this would have made.

The trial was conducted with 25 people and of those symptoms shared by
to or more people, not a large number were produced.

The "Conclusion" of the article on the trial states:

The results of this trial indicate that the synergistic effects of a
"Combination Remedy" will produce a spectrum of pathogenetic effects
which are mostly commensurate with those of the individual component
remedies, though the character of one remedy does not predominate over
the other. The emergence of a new unknown pathogenesis is also
indicated.

The "Implications for Practice" states:

It is indicated from this trial that a "Combination Remedy" may be
efficacious in the treatment of certain acute conditions, despite the
unknown pathogenesis. A "Combination Remedy" may particularly be
efficacious in such instances where vague or non-characteristic acute
symptomatology presents.
