I make up a mixture containing mostly Urtica Urens, a little
Arnica,Calendula and Hypericum all in a Herbal Tincture. Works great. I use
about 90% of the Urtica Urens.

You can also buy Nelson's Pyrethrum spray which I always carry abroad with
me but find it best used immediately.

Rochelle, This sounds awesome.
I live in Fl and it's awful here with bitting critters.
could you please tell me exactly how you make it?
Tincture? do you have to order the tinctures of each? or can you use
pellets in an MS?
thanks
Colleen

I buy herbal tincture in 1/2 litres from a herbal supply company. I use them
anyway instead of expensive homeopathic MT as organ supports when needed
and they work the same. A MT is a 1x and I always get patients to take a
tincture in water anyway. To make the mixture you just use a measuring jug
and then pour in a bottle!!

With biting critters I would put some citronella essential oil in the mix as
it keeps the critters at bay. I would also put the citronella in my body
lotion as well if you don't sick of the smell!! It does work!!!

Ledum tincture is pretty effective, too.

"Sting-Stop" gel by Boericke & Tafel is pretty effective for most insect
bites (contains Echinacea, Ledum, Urtica urens), though I have to admit it's
not doing much for my current crop of black fly bites! (Someday I'm going
to potentize one of those nasty critters -- anyone want to do a proving?)

Peace,
Cinnabar

It's what I use to stop the itch and heal them fast!!! Yes it is fine on
bites that have occurred. (Sorry for the late reply - have been on a post
grad course with Dr S Banerjea this weekend.)
