Hello David,

This is the area in which I become fuzzy in my philosophical thinking
- obviously, when we are needing repeat doses of the remedy, we have
not extinguished the original disease, yet we are still seeing the
secondary action by the VF. What is happening here?

I have explained it to myself by thinking of the VF as a muscle. When
it is strong, it can react soundly and fully, restoring and
maintaining homeostasis. When weak, it may only be able to rebound
weakly with a secondary action that it cannot hold for very long,
before slipping back into a disordered state.

With repeated stimulating nudges by the primary action of the remedy
the VF it is exercised and strengthened, like a muscle, until it
produces a strong enough reaction to fully regain balance and maintain
homeostasis fully and permanently. But, this thinking does not match
the process that Hahnemann describes. Would you please share why you
think we need to repeat the remedy, and how the natural disease seems
to only be extinguished by degrees in some cases, David.

Fran
