Enquiring minds (was Antidoting or Lyc patient)

Post by Similibooks »

Thanks, Soroush and to Liz and Chris from the Aussie (pronounced Ozzie)
contingent.

I agree, and it's great to get amplification on why some of the DON'Ts
occur. I'm seeing so many hom students (as a hom bookseller) that are
confused and become quite discouraged because of all the "don't do's". What
I suggest to them is that they ask "why?" or "where did that come from?'.
There is some reasoning to be found in the Organon, in the writings of
Hering, Boenninghausen etc. but these are not always explored by students or
their lecturers. There is so much material to cover in a course, students
will trust their lecturers of course, and pick up on their experiences.
Nothing wrong with that. Everyone finds what suits them, what they are
comfortable with, what resonates with them as a practitioner and they will
pass on their preferences on to their students. Nothing wrong with that
either, however if a student isn't exposed to a reasonable number of
practitioners to get a range of views, their education may be somewhat
limited/wanting. Possibly nothing wrong with that either, but it frustrates
me to see them so puzzled about things that I can't find much basis for.

I suppose what I'm suggesting is KEEP READING, keep learning. You don't
have to buy all the books, there are a load of free books on the internet
that you can download and read. And keep asking WHY. It has been great to
have this forum to ask things of, my education just continues. Nothing
wrong with that either.

Hopping off the soap box now, Cheers, Elizabeth
