Can Variollinum be given in the eruptive stage or just after that of
chicken pox in one dose.

I have understood that one should not use a nosode during the active
stage of a viral infection. Also I so not think Variolinum would be
indicated unless there was " a never well since " situation, Best

Hi Group,

I am giving the details of the case.

The pt is a 12 yrs old girl. She isnot a regular pt of mine had come on
4h this mnt for fever and throat pain which got resolved by one dose of
Bell divided dose. But a few days back she again got fever and throat
pain for which she took allopathic medicine the dr gave her medicine
for 2 days and she was ok the day the fever was gone ( on 15th) in the
morning her mother saw a pin head sized vesicle pale coloured one on her
neck,on finger and forehead, and as time went she got a few more so
they came to me the pt was fine no fever chest clear no other symptom
other than this pin head sized eruption. They told that there was a
case of CP in their neighbourhood but the girl had not gone there and
that pt took allopathic medicine and was ok in just 4 days. This was
the only think that make them think this is CP I was not sure that it
is CP and told them to wait and as she had not exams and next 2 mnts it
is holidays for her so if it is CP i told let it come and go ie the best
thing that can happen to her. If it is CP she is getting it in the best
time. They came in the evening and had got a few more eruptions ie
total some 10 eruptions all pin head sized pale.

Frankly speaking this is my first case of CP. I gave her 2 dose of Rhus
tox one to be taken today and next to be taken only after asking me
and Kali Mur 6X - Kali mur 3 time a day and she was ok but today the pt
called that she has fever yesterday night and the total no of eruption
had increased the one on th palm is having pain. Other wise she is
healthy and fine and active. yesterday she had taken fish and cake. She
is also taking bath and instead of wiping she just gently press with a
soft cloth to remove the water.

I asked about variollinum because it is told to reduce the eruptions and
the course of the disease. But when to give it i dont know.

As for now i have told the pt to continue as it is the medicine, only
if she has itching, fever, cough or any other problem to contact me.

relieved by warm baths or applying heat; very restless, both physically and
mentally; The eyes may become inflamed and sticky. Muscles can ache and

Does this match the picture you have described? no.

Kali mur should not be given unless the symptom picture matches it. Why is
that being given and in such a routine way?

Why is what has been described even being treated at all?
I would suggest that we don't want to reduce the eruptions
......................the rash has got to come out or more serious
reactions will happen.

Hi Nandana,
This might be a case where "patient education" would be better than
remedies. Good that it *tried* to tell them to let it all come out,
wait and see what happens. But maybe explain further, that if it *is*
chicken pox, then it's best for the girl if it is permitted to come
out; and if it's not chicken pox, then you should let the picture
develop a while, to try to see what it *is*. If she were feeling awful
then there could be some argument for helping her to feel better, but
it sounds like the eruption is the only symptom at this point? And in
that case, I would think best not tampered with. Perhaps the parents
will muster more patients if you are able to explain the importance of
letting the disease be expressed and eliminated?

Hello all,
I'm new to the group. Just started homeopathic treatment for my son, who is autistic. However, my 3 year old NT daughter is down with the chicken pox. Horrible, all over her body, with high fever. Can anyone recommend something for this besides Ant-T?? I would really appreciate some feedback.

There are many remedies that you could give for this - Aconite, Belladonna, Pulsatilla, Silicea, mercury, Sulphur to name but a few but details of the individual case are necessary to distinguish the need for one rx over another. Appearance of the rash/eruptions, what makes it better or worse, how the child is reacting to the disease, i.e. her nature, (for example if she is extremely restless with the fever then Belladonna might be the simillimum), how it has changed her other daily routines such as appetite/thirst etc etc. As you have a homeopath for your son I think it best you consult with them on this.
