Exactly.
A number of years ago, a group of GPs in the UK were asked to rank
their likelihood of using a new therapy. They were more inclided to
use it based upon the report of a colleague that it was effective
than they were based upon any clinical trials. And it was by a large
margin with clinical trial being at the bottom of the list.
If anyone is waiting for clinical trial to advance homeopathy, they
have a long wait.
All that can be learned of Jennifer Jacobs' trial of using homeopathy
in childhood diarrhea is that *it seems to be effective for childhood
diarrhea*. And the otis media trail might find it is effective for
otitis. But they NEVER get to the point of the general statement that
homeopathy *is effective in many diseases.* Because that is NOT the
mind set of those who do that kind of work.
And, as Harris Coulter once pointed out, "how much is enough?" If we
have 20 trials showing the effectiveness of homeopathy, the
establishment will say, "we want to see more." So you give them 100.
And they say, "we want to see more." The answer to "how much is
enough" is simply, "more than you got."
The establishment has never been interested in homeopathy-- not in
the Cholera outbreak in London in 1854 where they jiggled the figures
to exclude the homeopaths, not in the flu epidemic of 1918. More is
never enough.
So the only thing to do to remain sane is to learn how to do it, and
do it well to those people who knock on your door.

Jacques Benveniste is the French immunologist who started the whole

reaction in the cell.

And... I never suggested Bellavite-- that was Joe.

I suggested:

"Faces of Homeopathy" (Winston) to get an overview of the History and problems
"Divided Legacy Vol. 1 & 2" (H. Coulter) for a history of vitalism,
and "Vol. 4" to understand where modern medicine screwed up.
"The Organon" (Hahnemann) for the accurate layout of it all.
"Lectures on Homeopathy" (Dudgeon) 1854 lectures.
"The Genius of Homeopathy" (S. Close) Homeopathic philosophy made clear.

I agree TOTALLY..................so much time wasted on so-called studies.
I was cured of migraines in 2 months - when nothing else did it after 13+
years of trying EVERYTHING imaginable.
My patients get better after trying everything else first.

I too care NOTHING for studies. Statistics can prove anything you want, or
disprove it.
I am sick to death of the lying pHARMa studies which are manipulated to the
max

This is the way most people who use homeopathy feel about this issue. Lying
pharmaceutical companies and the quackbusters of the world calling
themselves scientists. Give me a break. Hahnemann was 1,000 times the
scientist these quacks will ever be. There is no comparison.

One final word for me on this subject. Some people have said that they
delete Anna's posts without reading them. I don't think that is the best
approach as, for me, I hate to miss anything. Also, one might consider that
some people have a way of stimulating discussion, even though their motives
and/or background may be suspect or unknown. I think we should recognize
that Anna got things going here and, thank her for her efforts. I also hope
she finds a good school to study in and gets the answers to the questions
she has raised and that she will write to the list again when she feels
that it is safe to do so.

I'm one one of those who trash her messages unread. I do not agree I / we
should (indiscriminately) be thankful to somebody who 'gets things going'. I
fail to see anything useful in any mail she send, but I do admire all who
are more 'patient' with her. Also, I predict she'll keep some of us 'going'
some more, though...

Well, as one who has done more than my share of annoying people, I must
say, I appreciate a good fight (Mars in the first house, conjunct ascendant
and squaring the Sun).

I will - Nay, I must continue to tweak . . .

Hi Hennie,

I must agree with Allen :-) we do have anna to thank for the mails
she send, look at the good answers it brought us, its almost a course
in classical homeopathy in itself.

Better fight mails that give us some good answer mails from reputed
homeopaths then no mails or discussion at all like in some groups :-)

Greeting
Marleen

Hi Allen,

I'm too sleepy to make up an articulate reply, but want to say "me too!" I
think she's asked some good questions, and I think they have been sincere
(in the beginning I had doubts, but now think they are sincere), and have
brought out some really lovely discussions. Especially (but not limited to)
Julian's recent expositions!

But, I think those who are annoyed by the conversations *should* use that
ol' "delete" button, both in self-defense and also as a nod of indulgence
toward the several of us who *do* want to continue the conversations with
Anna. I don't want to be party to driving anyone nuts, but hey, some of us
are *enjoying* the exchange at this point, beggin' yer collective pardons.
:-)

Sigh, brain cells to sleepy to say more, g'night...
