You have the right to reject good will if you want. But why would anyone want to do that. I said that like I would end a comment with "With Respect". I am sure that I have said "Dear Irene"; what is the problem with reversing the words. If you want to reject my good will, I guess you have some problems. I said it so that you would not take offense at my countering your ideas. Instead, you take offense.

But you did not address my points. Is this your way of avoiding ideas that undermine your ideas.

Thank you, Saroush. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. I meant respect. I say truthfully that her response sent me into an ugly depression for 12 hours. Fortunately I didn't do anything wrong or mean spirited because of it. I just stewed in my self-hatred. Sometimes life hands one the unexpected.

Now you're going to get Soroush mad at you for misspelling his name!
But I must say I had the same reaction as you, Roger, regarding the transposition of Dear Irene to Irene dear. From now on we should all address her as "Irene dear" just so she gets used to it. Or how about Irene "dear de clathrate" Villiers.

roger, sometimes when people use terms such as that, especially when there appears to be no love loss between the two, it can come across as condescending. it is even more difficult to discern people's intentions when it comes to emails and message boards such as this one. if you didn't mean it as such then explain and move on. apologize if you feel and realize it as a mistake. it appears she does not see herself as your dear anything, even if you meant no harm those terms should be directed towards who appreciate being your "dear".

IN my culture "Irene dear" is presumptuous and rude, and/or facetious, unless from a family member.
That is the problem in connotation with reversing the words.

It is my way of declining to respond to rudeness.
Please use the normal salutation.

I do not always have the time to respond either depending what is going on in my lfe. I have various court deadlines to meet requiring a great deal of busy work to respond to the fascinating things the WA DOH thinks up to say. (My sense of humor falls off at times and I have to go pick it back up). I just wish this was not sub judice and that I could run an appropriately worded commentary as it goes. I'm sure it would be extremely entertaining or at least fascinating, but it might also be deemed practice of medicine in raising blood pressure for anyone needing that. It's not like I can enclose any clathrates either (trying to make this topical); it all goes by fax :-)

Namaste,
..Irene

I take VERY SERIOUSLY in my daily life that we are all ONE. It is more than just a platitude for me. It is something I live. So I tend to move in the direction of caring about everyone. "They" are all me. They are not all my personality or even my mind, thank G0D. But they are all consciousness, and everything else is merely the script that we have to play this lifetime.

Hi,
I think Soroush is a woman. Not sure because I have a Iranian friend who is a guy and his name is Soroush. But somewhere way back, I remember Soroush saying she was a woman. We are all grateful to Soroush for moderating this site over many years.
Best,
Ellen

Ellen,

Considering that Soroush has not banned me and is accepting, patient, and apparently compassionate, you may be right. (:->) But I knew a Sarosh who was an Iranian immigrant to India, and who also was a homeopath and he was a male. And I think that the pronunciations are exactly the same. Although, when I deal with our Soroush, I keep picturing him as a him.
