Homeopathic Vet in Chicago area?

Why would it be disrespectful to take our proper place in the food chain, along with all the other animals on the planet? Is the lion disrespectful? The wolf? Are antelope and wild sheep more respectful? There is no place in nature for compassion. So-called "humane" killing of animals is perhaps kinder than what some predators must apply, but we must all eat what we are designed to eat, or there will be consequences. This, to me, is a form of respect: we are put on this planet to do a good job of living here, a proper job, utilizing and learning from everything we do while we fulfill our design. I personally do not see rejection of our evolutionary place as spiritual advancement, and I believe spiritual advancement is entirely possible while living in the way we designed to do - possibly even advancement to the level where we truly understand that this is what we are really here for.

Many societies have rituals to honor and thank prey animals for their gifts, while knowing they cannot exist without them. This to me is real respect for our place, and wise in understanding the web of life, while fully participating in it.

Of course, there is no comparison to modern non-agrarian cultures who mindlessly chow down on animal parts of which they have no idea of the origin or the suffering produced in procuring such. But rejecting meat is no guarantee of spiritual enlightenment. If we understand our dogs' needs, we should understand our own, and design our philosophy around that knowledge, and not around avoiding the issue.

Ah, that is interesting!
Do you have any thoughts about whether his an O-type that is (for
whatever other reason) nonetheless "designed for" a vegetarian diet, or
whether there are other factors making him able to do outstandingly
well on a less-than-optimum diet?

I (also type O) was a strict vegetarian for about 12 years, and was
able to do alright with it so long as I was living in a clean, rural
environment with minimal stress (e.g. didn't have to get up to an alarm
clock, or do regular office work, etc., etc.)--in other words, did not
need to function at "peak efficiency", or probably even very *good*
efficiency. Once I moved back to the city and offices and alarm clocks
etc, it became somewhat less comfortable (tho i *miostly* kept it up);
once I got pregnant, the veggie thing just flew out the window and I
never looked back. I suppose it's possible that the *right* vegetarian
diet plus an outstanding lifestyle and exercise program would have made
it work? Dunno, interesting question.
