Hi Tanya,
I can't remember how we introduced ours, but I think it was just by
sprinkling some in a corner of the food, and letting them get used to
it and start to nibble as they were ready. How long a try did you give
it? (Ours get kibble, so it's easy to just leave it on a corner of the
food; for wet food, Irene's suggestion sounds great, or mixing in just
a tiny bit at first, then gradually increasing, as they get used to it.
Once they do, you can probably just leave a little dish or plain yeast
powder for them to nibble at? i haven't tried that, but that's pretty
much what ours do from the top of their kibble.

Unfortunately these toxins can kill or destroy the liver at very low
concentrations - way below the concentration detectable by a human
nose. Their history speaks for itself. First they assume 1 part per
million (ppm) is "safe exposure", then find it is not so, and change
it to 10 ppm or 100ppm and then to 1 part per billiion and so on.
But if you prefer not to hear that, and use something that uses known
cat poison as the active ingredient, paying patent fees to avoid any
testing requirement, or even ingredient disclosure, then I guess that
is your prerogative.

In my case, nothing on this planet will make me use a product the
manufacturer has gone to such lengths about to be able to PRETEND a
toxin is not a toxin, and FOOL the consumer into thinking it is safe
when by definition it is not.
Sadly, most consumers assume if they can not smell it, it is safe.
That could not be further from the truth.
Are you saying it does not land (dry or wet) where cats walk or breathe?
That means you are not using it in the house to pollute the air there.
Actually this one is a CYA to allow them to assemble any or all
versions of toxic combinations at will, without disclosing the
ingredients.
Do NOT fall for that!
Someone with something real to patent, uses descriptions of the ONE
item they wish to patent.
Here they are CLAIMING that the combination/s are "special"
Yeah right - for special read toxic.
They do it because pesticides have to be PROVEN safe at specific
concentrations and these guys know theirs would fail.
It is ALSO expensive to get a patent - so this is noty ab out
avoiding expense, it is ab out making sales to gullible people wiht a
"safe" on the label.

It works - as you see for yourself.
They get rich.
Cats get dead. (or sick)

Would YOU guarantee this to be safe for cats at the concentration used?
If so, on what grounds?
You do not even know the concentration! EVEN THAT IS HIDDEN.

If you want a safe cleaning product, use plain baking soda and water.

Ooh, lucky kitties! Ours get raw when they can catch it... (I
should be a better mama...)

You could try putting a bit of plain yeast on a dish, either wet or
dry, or mixing a little in with any moist treat, *and* sometimes
putting out a small dish of it plain, wet or dry. I'm not certain that
would work, but it very well might, once it's become familiar to
them--ours are happy to eat it plain, wet or dry! Once I dropped the
can, and most of the spillage (thankfully just a few spoonfuls) was
enthusiastically cleaned up for me, by four little tongues on the
not-so-clean floor (gak). (Well, I did leave them some time to work at
it... LOL!) Ours may be more eager than would a better-nourished
(e.g. raw-fed) cat, but I'm guessing that if they get fleas, they will
develop a taste for the yeast. Just a guess, tho.

cant really recall but it was probably over the course of a week that i
tried
to introduce it. i feed wet food. but am willing to try the verrrrry slow
intro that is being suggested. i am definitely in flea country and i still
have
an outside cat. he is not terribly bothered by fleas, but still gets them.
i
get them in the house no matter what. that is why i loved the safe
solutions
last year. de did practically nothing in my house except add to its
generally
messy state

Hi Tanya,
Another thought--the thing that's worked well for me for fleas in the
house (happens occasionally when I've let them run out of yeast, or
when I was gone) is vacuuming a ton, together with something to kill
the fleas in the canister. I used to use a bit of flea collar, which
worked fine, then switched to diatomaceous earth--just make sure a bit
gets vacuumed up along with each load. That's worked just as well, and
I feel a lot better about it. (One time I forgot, and then had to
chase down fleas all thru the house--wherever I'd let the un-emptied
vacuum stand for a while. :-p Never again!)
