Actually, I've always found carbonation soothing, for what it's worth -- so unflat Coke has been a good anti-nauseant for me -- not cold, and not Diet. Rosemary

It could well be the sugar. Another really fantastic anti-nauseant I've found is apricot nectar, or even the sweetened syrup from a can of apricots. The nectar at least would contain some potassium -- don't know about the syrup, but it works beautifully.

Hi

I have done the experiment with meat, and nothing happened.
It is said also that coke dissolves rust and can loosen a nut, but I tried it
and nothing happen

I think maybe it is a matter of concentration.

I am sure phosphoric acid can do the above things, but the point would be to
know what concentration of phosphoric acid coke has?

Sincerely
Guillermo

hi

These drinks have a high Phosphoric Acid content. They have low pH.

Drop a tooth in a bottle of Coke and it will be dissolved within 48 hours!

It is said to leach out phosphorous from our body too (bones).

So avoid it as much as possible.

Do not even discuss Diet versions - that is just sweet POISON!

To tie this discussion into the topic

HOMEOPATHIC COCAINE IN COCA COLA?
http://www.relfe.com/cocaine_cola_history.html

http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/cocaine.asp

Although the first of the two links looks like fabrication (one never
knows) -the second one seems more likely, and the amount of cocaine said
to have been included in coca cola prior to 1929 is within the range of
a homeopathic dilution. I suppose that quite a bit of fluxion and
succussion might be involved in the processes of a bottling plant.

But in those days didn't it contain cocaine?

The reason I asked the question in the first place was because I have a
patient who drinks up to 10 cans of coke when he gets home from work at
night. Naturally he has sleep problems. He is not keen to give it up
although he has cut down a bit.
My question is, will it antidote his remedy like coffee does/can? should I
give him a lower potency more often? or will it depend on his particular
susceptibility?
I guess I will have a better idea when I talk to him tomorrow.
Thank you for any insight.
Michele.

Yowie, ten cans... I have always heard that coke does *not* antidote
remedies (again, that caffeine is not the issue), but I'd worry about
whether that much of it is keeping his body in a stressed-out state that
remedy might have difficulty penetrating.

Is he aware of how much of a problem that much coke is apt to cause him down
the line (if not now)? How (if what I read is correct) the acid and sugar
and phosphorus (triple whammy) leach calcium from the body and bones, and
cause a highly acid condition which predisposes a person to just about any
disease you can think of...

Do you think he is open to information on the subject? After all, if he's
not aware of any *reasons* he should quit, then it's understandable that he
doesn't want to (it tastes good, it's a habit, and he's evidently addicted).

I wonder if it is the caffeine giving him the sleep problems or the
liquid capacity of his bladder!!!

I had a friend who drank that amount of coke. He was quite obese and
keeled over at the age of 55. At one point he DID stop, and lost a
substantial amount of weight. But as soon as he started-- 0n went the
pounds.

As far as Cocaine being in Coke... my sources say that it was until
it was removed in 1903. There were MANY drinks based on the Cocoa
leaf. The most popular was a cocaine wine that was drunk by both
Thomas Edison and the Pope.
