Many goitres, if they are growing that fast pr are very big, will cause some
kind of constriction.

I would also include ailanthus; and if soft, Calc and calc iod; + Fucus;
Thyroidinum; and really one would have to consider all the thyroid and
hypothyroid remedies. The fast growing goitres include kali iod (isn't this
what was painted onto the throat?)

Hypo and Hyper can produce goitres - Spongia = hard thyroid, tubercular
diathesis and in my experience much more suited to the hyper thyroid,
anxiety, restless, look of terror (which an exophthalmic goitre will cause),
very hungry all the time and very hot.

Dear Joy,
Yes it was Kali iodide which was painted on the throat. The goitre is not hard. She is feeling the cold which goes with Hypothyroid. She is also getting a bit anxious about the pressing feeling she feels when swallowing. It is not a pain. She does feel brighter this week. She has got a bit of her appetite back. I looked at Ailanthus and couldn't see a fit there.

Talk about a learning opportunity!! I am now studying Herings Guiding Sx and the best appears to be Iodine but she is not hot or thin!! She is very Tubercular - travelling and taking up new challenges. Both Iodine and Spong are in Choudhury's Indications of Miasms as Grade A tubercular Rx. I note that Kali Iod is also there.

The problem is I am still none the wiser.

This looks interesting so I thought I would share it with you. Her face is pale.

Lapis A
As second year students of the Auckland College of Classical Homeopathy, we
were asked to complete an assignment of our choice as an end of year
assessment. A suggestion was forwarded that someone consider studying Lapis
albus on the emotional/mental level, as only the physical level was known
at this time. Two curious investigators took up this challenge and we have
analysed the three basic components (which make up Lapis albus,) Silica,
Calcarea and Fluorine separately, and their remarkable relationships
together, to come to an understanding of the emotional and mental
characteristics. We then underwent provings, which further enhanced and
broadened our understanding of these characteristics.
The remedy has a strong affinity for the GLANDS with the characteristics of
swelling, which is SOFT, ELASTIC AND PLIABLE. (Compare hard and stony
swelling as in Calcarea fluorata) The thyroid gland will be soft and pliable
and the patient suffering from goitre; children may be obese, and babies may
be fat and anaemic, the face being deathly white, and also having a ravenous
appetite.
Conclusions
The provings have portrayed a positive state of a Calcarea, Silica and
Fluorine personality.
The key features are:
*CONFIDENCE - Confidence in a spirit of positive adventure.
*INNER STRENGTH- Renewed energy physically and inner strength mentally and
emotionally. Able to tackle anyone or anything.

for social contact was evident. Feelings related to the heart chakra were
awakened and joyfulness was a feature. (Compare superficial contact of
Fluoric component)
*THROAT chakra affected- a fearless speaking out for oneself. Ability to
communicate feelings and ideas with confidence.

You need to be studying the hypo rx then and I would put Iodium into the
Hyper!! Very hot, rushed, need to be outdoors, huge energy boost which comes
with a hyperactive thyroid, cannot stop, thin even emaciated.

Hypo tend to be plumper and more sluggish because the metabolism completely
slows down but it depends on where she is on the scale of change.

Has she ever had any previous inflammation of the thyroid as Hypo can
develop out of that, i.e. the thyroid becomes damaged which in turn causes
the lack of hormone.

Taking up new challenges and liking to travel doesn't entirely put the case
in a tubercular nutshell - these are just healthy aspects of someone's life.

Take the case fully then you will be wiser.

Is this perhaps something that needs clearing up - Q = quater and D = die =
day - quater = quarter = 4.

I have always understood this to be 4 times a day

QID = quater in die = which also means 4 times in a day

Perhaps it matters if it is uppercase or not but my latin/french says not

Two sides of the same coin?
