hmm... having been in the computer field for 15yrs, I've found that a
huge majority of the problems that people have with computers and
software are problems between the ears ;^)

With computer problems &/or operating system software problems &/or
application software problems (or any combination thereof!) sometimes it
is not so easy to pinpoint the problem to a particular area .. as with
many things in life.. there are very few problems that can't be solved
by a little determined effort & attention to details... of course, a
tendency to run from or turn one's back on the problem & become bitter,
or to blame others & categorize them as bad people because of one's
problems.. solves nothing, and may merely mask the original problem
under another... and may in fact be a contributing factor to what
appears to be the overt problem.

If you would like to make your version 6 program work (thanks to
microsoft's relentless planned obsolescence program), you would need to
have an equally old operating system .. and visit the wwww.archibel.com
website for technical support. I am 100% confident that their
techsupport team are willing & capable of assisting anyone who is
willing to proceed with stepwise troubleshooting in making their Radar
software function in a given installation.

I don't know of any company that offers free upgrades to +/- 4yr old
software, but as I mentioned, Archibel has provided a couple of
relatively major free upgrades and several lesser ones since Radar 8 was
introduced.

The functionality, content, user-interface, and OS compatibility have
been continually upgraded. (content upgrades with few exeptions *not*
free)

Not every software is so simple a child could use it (thank G_d
Many "niche market" professional softwares have fairly steep learning
curves, due to the fact that the software developes focus more stongly
on providing their professional users with powerful & feature-rich
packages than ultimate ease of use.

One's investment of several hundred up to several thousand dollars in
professional software does not retroactively endow one with perfect
mastery of the software!

A little time & effort must be expended in learning how to USE the
sofware.
If all else fails, read the manual

Thanks for your messages.
I really don't have any problem using the Radar program, the only
problem I have is in my version (Portuguese version) of Radar 7.3.17
instead of version 6 as you said, is that I cannot print from some
windows. The only solution I have is make Print Screen and then
paste the clipboard information into an image editor program to save
as a jpg or any other graphic format.
I ask: wasn't it supposed to get it printed directly from the
respective printing command of the program? It doesn't happen with
all windows in Radar. For example with the analyze window I can
print without any problem, also from the keynotes window. Just from
the searching window the printing function seems not to be able to
respond.

About to look for a computer professional, I must tell you that the
most close I have lives exactly here in my home. Yes I am a computer
technician and it is exactly what I do for life is install
computers, software and Hardware... So, I don't think the problem is
that one, because the problem is as easy as it. I have the window
open, and then I chose print from de File menu, the printer starts
working and all I get is a Blank paper leaving from the printer.
Don't you think the problem is the program? If the printer works
fine with all other programs I have installed in my computer system
(Windows XP)?

I also tried to print using a different printer, and the result was
the same one, a blank paper coming from the printer.

Another question which I would like to see solved is that we cannot
select and copy any portion of the Repertory Synthesis window, why?
Well we can always do Print Screen, but then what we get is always
an image format, not the text which could be much more interesting.

Can you tell me if the new version 8 allow us to do it?
