Vermeulen's plant books

Hi,

Does any one have Vermeulen's 4 volume plant books? I just got it and cannot figure out how to use the index. Beside the remedies and families there are numbers. They are not page numbers and I see no other numbers in each family. If you have some insight, please instruct me.
