Epidemic Updates
Chikungunya goes Chronic

Utilizing tele-medicine, HWB Clinical Director, Lauren Fox, FNP, BC, CCH, is working with PG Legerme and Dr. Joseph Prosper as they follow the response to homeopathic medicines in treating 170 people suffering with chronic Chikungunya.
Dr. Joey calls HWB for assistance

“We are registering a lot of cholera cases in the northwestern part of Haiti…and there are not enough IVs.”

Cholera response plans remain underfunded in Haiti, and Dr. Joey reports a threefold increase in the number of reported cases from January to April 2015.

PG Legerme, HWB’s Haiti educator and liaison, is providing Dr. Joey with the necessary homeopathic medicines and support for his clinical work.

Thanks to our friends, volunteers, staff and donors, HWB was presented with the Martha Oelman Community Service Award for our work in Haiti at the Joint American Homeopathic Conference in Philadelphia last month.

"This award honors HWB for their outreach beyond the homeopathic community. They are translators of homeopathy into the wider world. This year’s honoree is HWB whose dedication to homeopathy has made a huge difference in health care internationally. Responding with energy, orchestrated expertise, and commitment undaunted in the face of potentially devastating obstacles from the natural to the political, this group has not only provided effective care where none existed but also embarked on groundbreaking clinical research and created an ongoing structure for developing local knowledge and resources for a truly sustainable contribution to the people of Haiti."

- Ann Jerome, President National Center for Homeopathy, at JAHC May 2015.
