Hi

Curious to know:
How can you remove a root canal?

Regards

Dear GInny,
YOu would not believe what cortisol can do to teeth, suffice to say I have had more experiece in this than anyone I know or anyone my dentist knows :-)
Root canals are frequently not done correectly.A regular dentist doe their best but idealy you nered a root canal specialist. A root canal needs to go to the very tip of the root, and it MUST be totally sealed there. Too often the canal is filled but the root tip is NOT sealed and that allows egress of chronic infection there. The only fix I know is to have the root canal done properly by someone who does only root canals for living. THis can be very tricky, as the current root canal can not be undone. WHat I had to have done on three separate roots, is minor surgery to go in from the root tip side to seal it without disturbong what is above there. This defnitely needs a root canal speialist, and is a better option than anyone trying to drill out aqn old root canal. They are in there to stay and your tooth ewill freak at the trauma if someone tries.
My own teeth had lots of incorrect root canals, partly becasue my teeth have curved roots and any straight line clearing out does not easily seal the tip.
But whatever the case, the chronic issues result when a root canal did not properly seal the root tip of the tooth.
ANd fixing it is harder than a root canal as it needs sealing form the root tip end.
Namaste,
Irene

It is true. Old root canals just stuck a filler in the tooth without making SURE the tip was sealed. (Wrote details in a previous email today)

You remove a root canal by pulling the tooth. I have read that often when the root-canaled tooth is pulled, there is a horrible smell from it.

I have an old root canal (from maybe 30 years ago?) that I've had occasional problems from, and I told years back that I should have it pulled, and have the gum/jaw underneath it scraped clean, to remove lingering infection. I don't know if this is commonly done or not, just my understanding and memory of what I was told.

(But the issues are only occasional, so I haven't done it.)

ONLY if the root canal was incorrectly done with failure to seal the root tip.
A properly done root canal does not let bacteria go down the tooth to the tip and have access to the tissues below to make an infection, becasue the root tip is properly sealed.

Irene, thank you very much! This agrees with the research I have been doing. I understand how the root needs to be capped, and how this was probably not done originally. I have found any number of endodontists within reach, and will be looking for the best.

Since I intend to avoid system-wide antibiotics after the procedure, is this a place for the Acon 200c you mention? Or would something else, like Hyp, be better?

Hi Ginny, I took a course in Live Blood Cell Analysis years ago. The teacher was an expert in the subject. First day of class we all donated a blood drop and brought up our slides. Teacher never met or spoke with any of us before class. She looked at one slide and said to the student. You have a root canal! Student said, yes how did you know? There were clusters of bacteria there only found in root canals.

It is supposedly like fixing a sponge with cement - grind out an infected area, add cement and expect that bacteria to be gone. No way!

Consider a Maryland Bridge. It cements artificial teeth between good teeth without capping them. Had mine for 20 years without a problem and no other tooth destruction.
