Her face wasn't red anymore. She actually didn't look too bad, she was sitting
up. She had done this to herself by stabbing into herself incorrectly and
hitting an artery. but the hospital messed her up further by changing the dose
of her normal medicine without asking her doctor and her blood pressure went
too low and she had dehydration, vertigo and nausea and pain from the pooled
blood. A huge number of people have been praying for her, she was moved to a
different floor where the care was much better and ate for the first time
today. She had bruises and swelling all over her abdominal/stomach area. I
left her with some arnica in water. If this harms her I will give up
homeopathy. I don't know if she will take it or not. I felt pressured by my
friend...4 people in the room were looking up arnica on their phones. Maybe
Hypericum would have been better. I felt so anxious...never again.

Re: emergency help requested
Well I am really puzzled, since when is Arnica the right remedy when there is uncontrolled bleeding and infection? Is not Arnica indicated for bleeding into tissue from bruising, accidents? Not stabbing. From my experience Arnica acts similar to Aspirin - thinning the blood. If you do not know for sure - then best do nothing Homeopathy is not a guessing game. Carol ? should go back to studying before she hands out more remedies.

What I felt was that this woman had been abused by the system and that Arnica I heard once [ cannot remember the source ]was useful in such patients
Vermeulin describes Arnica as having a red face and certainly was traumatised. I do not think Carol should be made to feel guilty, Jean

From my reading here through the years, Carol has been careful and responsible, and has actually had a really nice track record over time, and she studies! (Arnica *does* have a place sometimes in infection, though based on symptoms and in this case I can't comment.)

Ok - did not mean to make anyone feeling guilty. Which should not have a place in the healing arts any way - but we often just give of the cuff a remedy that we think 'could work' and if it is not a serious case than it may not be critical but in a case like this - I think we have to make darn sure that it is the right remedy.
But I apologize if I offended.

From Vermeulen Concordant, Arnica:
Putrid phenomena. Septic conditions; prophylactic of pus infection
Tendency to tissue degeneration, septic conditions, abscesses that do not mature.
From Knerr's repertory:
Suppuration: general. 0>6>22
SUPPURATION: BURROWING PUS, NOT PAINFUL. 0>1>0
Suppuration: incipient. 0>3>0
SUPPURATION: PREVENTS FORMATION OF PUS BY WITHDRAWING WATER FROM SERUM. 0>1>0
Suppuration: abscess. 3>12>11
Suppuration: boils. 0>8>56
Suppuration: boils: multiple. 0>3>1
Suppuration: boils: small. 3>9>0
SUPPURATION: BOILS: SMALL, PAINFUL. 0>1>1
Suppuration: carbuncle. 5>14>11
In Reference Works, a search for "suppuration" in the remedy Arnica brings 118 references.
Good enough??

Re: emergency help requested
Arnica is actually excellent for tissue traumas, and its use as first aid is life saving, and can readily be followed by a closer choice for more specific issues once the emergency is over.
An example:
When working at a vet clinic, Arnica was used every time before surgery, causing fast healing afdterwards abd a ZERO rate of death deom surgery, anesthesia etc, even in very old animals. Arnica maintains the system during such physical trauma emergency.
Yet surgery cuts are a lot like stabbling- it is sharp knife traumatic injury to tissue - and its use for surgery trauma is unparallelled. We used it on about three to five cases a day (this from memory) six days a week for years.
That is more than 1200 cases per year.
That would be a misconception. Thankfully:-)
In fact Arnica UNDOES the damage that aspirin does, it has the rubric:

The following are also some of the rubrics of Arnica:
Essentially - unlike aspirin, it will stop bleeding where it does not belong and will dissolve clots where thery do not belong.
GENERALS - BLOOD VESSELS - complaints of
GENERALS - BUBBLING
GENERALS - CIRCULATION; complaints of the blood - motion - agg.

GENERALS - DEATH APPARENT - injuries; after
GENERALS - HEMORRHAGE

On the contrary she may have saved a life. ANd I would rather give Arnica tin response to a physical trauma than risk a life by sitting on my hands. Adn if I am in a physical trauma position I sure hope someone will have the guts to give me arnica too:-)
Essentially it is hard to go wrong in an emergency trauma by giving Arnica.
(What I used at the vet clinic was usually Arnica 1M - and what a fabulous track record for arnica against physical trauma was proved there.)
Good caring action, Carol.
And yes the repertory confirms its use in spades as above.
Gisela, you meant well but - maybe read the repertory before being quite so harsh next time?
Namaste,
Irene
