There should so, absolutely be this sort of coverage / protection. Isn't there? Some years back, at least one of the US homeopathy organizations had something of the sort in operation. I think it was the NASH (North American Society of Homeopathy) -- does anyone know?
National Center for Homeopathy ought to also be working on or toward something of the kind -- and maybe they are; I'm pretty out of touch these days. Anyone know about *anything* of the sort?

We do have insurance we can purchase through being a member of the CHC or NASH. That is malpractice insurance.
I am talking about a legal insurance fund to protect us from these frivolous lawsuits such as Irene is going through.
We are not a hugely profitable business. We do not earn $50,000 dollars a week like one MD I know does and we are not raking in unconscionable profits like big pharma.
Thus frivolous lawsuits will continue until they get prescedence to put us all out of business. It is expensive to have to continue to keep taking stupid cases up the ladder and eventually to the Supreme Court. What did Roe vs Wade cost? That guaranteed our rights to decide what to do with our own bodies. If I chose homeopathy as my medical treatment of choice, I have that right I believe. The same with wanting and rejecting vaccines. But I suspect it will take a Supreme Court decision to guarantee I get to exercise my rights.
The only recourse our enemies have is to beat us in the lower courts and assume we cannot cony up with the money to take it farther up the line.
We need a legal fund insurance we can all pay a little into to help pay for that Supreme Court appeal to protect our rights to be homeopaths.

Thanks Maria, that is good to know -- but the term I should have used, was "legal defense fund" -- and at least one of the groups had begun that also; but this was about 15 years ago that I'm remembering it from, so I guess it must have fizzled.

Good, now we know the name of what we need.
This is where the shoe pinches, though. We have to all agree on some minimum standards of practice, and then consider joining a certification organization (CHC) for the USA, Now we have a solid basis to start a legal defense fund.
Problem is we homeopaths are not marching to the same drummer as most people in our world. We have different opinions about many things that the modern world does making us go against the norm. I am not complaining as I was definitely born this way and am old enough to embrace my difference of opinion.
Together we can make a difference, together we should succeed, but as individuals we will fall to this kind of injustice.

LOL - yes hand over the Causticum - but you are so right - Legal defense fund would be good but I am telling you that is not enough we will only feed the Lawyers and the insurance companies - Judges are omni potent and are so loaded with cases that they don't care.( As Irene said they do not even read the writ's) I think we need to find a cadre of Lawyers that will fight our cause in any event and will go to the supreme court if necessary - Because our Freedom of presenting evidence is definitely compromised.
