Pyroluria

You may want to test for Pyroluria, a genetically inherited condition that can affect copper levels indirectly by depleting zinc and is also associated with social anxiety, post partum depression, hyperactivity, autism, Aspergers, bipolar and schizophrenia, attention deficit disorders, behavior disorders, depression, acne, eczema, sensitive skin, sunburn, headaches, poor immune function and much more so can affect anyone to various degrees.
In 1975, Dr. Atkins sent my blood and urine out for biochemical analysis which reported back I needed to supplement with vitamin B6, specifically pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P) and manganese.
Besides pioneering low carb ketogenic dieting, Dr. Atkins explored many complementary health areas.
This was before much was studied about it or called pyroluria and it didn't seem an issue for me when younger.
Now it is a daily effort to manage various symptoms I have which one wouldn't think have a common cause.
Pyroluria severely depletes your B6 and zinc and is helped by taking B6, P-5-P (B6 coenzyme precursor) and zinc.
Biotin, inositol, manganese, GLA essential fatty acid (evening primrose, black currant oils) are also helpful.
I noticed when taking some of these supplements over the years I felt much better but didn't know why, especially GLA.
After shampooing with zinc based shampoos, like Head & Shoulders, I feel very good.
When recently having a severe cold, I took 100mg of zinc per day and noticed feeling very good, not just from helping the cold.
Since Pyroluria is treated with vitamins and minerals, not drugs, MDs don't know about it and pharma hasn't and won't pay much attention to it.
Once pyrrole levels in urine are known, there are recommended dosages of supplements.
Taking zinc for example can offset copper and there are other interrelated mineral, vitamin issues.
So you can make yourself worse by overdosing on supplements and/or the wrong forms of them.
Stress makes the condition worse quickly.
Having had a career in hi tech for 20 years, I could not handle that type of work now with deadlines, pressure and all nighters.
One symptom is lack of dream recall which recently improved as I took more B6 and P-5-P.
Another is inability to tan, which I noticed the last 8 years or so, even when living in south Florida with lots of sun.
I'll see what happens this summer.
I have to further explore diet and how it may affect pyrrole production.
Possiibly, a recent diet change from heavy animal meat to mostly vegan may have worsened the condition for me.
Grass fed beef is recommended vs. vegan which can reduce zinc and increase copper levels.
Though I currently feel better and have lost 30 lbs going vegan, eventually discovering dairy and high cholesterol are more issues for me.
Beef is not high cholesterol, is calming and considered beneficial for Type B blood types.
I suspect Pyroluria derives from the psora miasm, as it appears to get worse when you move into middle age but is present earlier in a latent state.
Like many middle aged psoric conditions, it may get worse with aging.
Like another of my inherited genetic conditions, vitamin D falls extremely low (father had Ricketts) which I also would consider psoric, as it appears to worsen after middle age. Unknown if constitutional classical homeopathy is able to correct this in a timely manner.
Just as my lifelong astigmatism corrected after a couple of years of Tub K, hoping continued antimiasmatic (antispsoric, antitubercular remedies and nosodes) may eventually lessen the condition. After 16 years of taking mostly antipsoric remedies I don't expect it will be cured shortly.
These type of genetically inherited conditions may not be actual "Chronic Diseases" per Hahnemann since they are conditions that can be treated nutritionally vs. many chronic diseases that can't. Possibly, our soil and food supply being depleted of minerals, increase consumption of highly processed and fast foods could lead to more Pyroluria cases which may have been held at bay decades ago.
While Hahnemann surely saw patients with symptoms from these and other genetic issues and possibly included them in his reps, he didn't have the luxury of modern testing to identify them. Not that it would matter for homeopathic treatment other than possibly identifying the miasm family to pursue

Thanks!, once again, to Kari Kindem, classical homeopath, who includes Pyroluria testing in her practice.
It is due to her knowledge, experience and urgent recommendation for testing that finally helped me put a lifetime of jigsaw puzzle pieces together.
She fully embraces classical Hahnemann homeopathy for long term chronic disease care while understanding how specific genetically inherited conditions, ignored by mainstream allopathy, needs to be identified and concurrently treated nutritionally through supplementation, diet and lifestyle changes to immediately improve ones health and eliminate maintaining causes to homeopathic cure.
She is a forerunner for how future homeopaths need to successfully practice by addressing epigenetic influences alongside genetic causes.
No one deserves the tagline "Let Miracles Find You!" more than her! http://www.karikindem.com/
