Yes, I would have prescribed 10M for this situation. This is a high stress situation.

I just treated a minor motorcycle accident and prescribed Aconite 1M. When I saw that the patient had settled down about 30 minutes later I prescribe Arnica 1M (head/body injuries).

I didn't/don't worry about suppressions in these cases.

I was taught that you're not going to get suppression, or even aggravation, in this kind of intense situation. My first thought would have been 10M if I had it, or else frequent repetition as Ginny suggested (but I have no actual experience with doing that).
Interested in others' input on it.

Years ago I had a patient, otherwise in good health, who would get
violent panic attacks, out of thin air. These attacks were controlled,
more or less, by daily use of temazepam (or something similar).
First dose Acon 10 M worked for about a year (without need for
temazepam). The next dose, Acon 50 M, worked for about 2,5 years.
After that, she got one dose of Acon CM. All dry on the tongue.
I hear she's doing OK.
I'm not sure where I got the info at that time, but it proved that in a
clear cut Aconite cases and patients in good health, high potencies of
Acon work and low potencies do (next to) nothing.
(Acon CM is the only remedy in my cabinet I have in CM, and only one of
the about 80 globuli has been used.)

ok thanks everyone again... I think I understand better now, I may have misunderstood ginny so sorry about that. I only have 30c so when my mom comes home I will continue with higher succussions of aconite and see how it goes. The first dose I only used 3 succussions and she felt no difference so I will try higher now and more often.
Thanks very much again and I will keep everyone posted.
after this is resolved I guess if deeper issues come out she can go to a homeopath later if she wishes. I just want to get through this first.
thanks again

ok there was another incident..............my mom was going to the chiropractor and she had to go upstairs which are kind of scary...and another man was going up the same stairs and no one else was there. She got so scared she ran........so altho she is better she has this feeling now
that if she is alone with someone she doesn't know she feels very very scared, feeling they will harm her and cant go or be in such places.
should I repeat the aconite......I had only given her 3 doses I think ...

Hello,

This is where getting to the root of the problem with your mother is important.

Aconite helps if it is a great shock, But it looks like this is now more than just a shock, the fear is much more elemental, she has become afraid of a situation and the reasoning must be addressed.
Yes, you can use aconite as a constitutional remedy, but you did not give me the impression that this fear is a chronic state, just that it is triggered by certain events.

What is behind this fear? Insecurity about her strength? Fear of being a victim? Was she always like this or did this come from a bad experience.

This is why we take whole cases, the more we know the better the ability to address the real fears of the patient.

Warmly, Maria

This doesn't sound to me like an issue of reasoning, but more of a PTSD. One of the, Fear of a fright, with the fright still remaining, is that the rubric?

its like fear of being harmed, injured...which started only after this incident, suspicious of people now, afraid to be around strangers if alone one on one, but fine with strangers in a crowd
fear of if seriously harmed who would take care of things, like working and home things, doesn't want to be a burden or dependant on others never imposes or asks for help but does want it, and if given gets a bit clingy, like she said can you come with me next time to the chiropractor up those stairs.

fear of suffering like the pain if harmed
