Re: preparation of a C1

Thank you for this.
To be more specific, I think it is remarkable that we do not have a
remedy by the name of Ctenocephalides felis (cat flea). We do have Pulex
irritans (human flea). I'd say that Ctenocephalides felis is very
common, and it would need a prooving.
So I caught me some Ctenocephalides felis and decided to make a remedy
from it, and then found I wasn't sure how to proceed *exactly*.

I have some doubt about 'mixing' Ctenocephalides felis with
sugar/lactose in a blender. I'd say the 'impressing' (as it were) the
Ctenocephalides felis 'into' sugar/lactose in a mortar, using a pestle,
is different from quick rotating knives in a blender.

Are there any 'descriptions' showing that 'quick and dirty' (using a
blender) results in equally effective remedies?

I'm pretty sure Hahnemann didn't have a blender ;-)

Hennie,

What about buying C3s, and running up from there yourself?
And apparently the consistency doesn't have to be *exact*, since I read people here talking about using commercial potencies where available, and running up the intermediate ones themselves.

Some one wrote here once a story about a mother
whose son was stung by a bee in middle of no where
so she caught a bee in a water bottle and gave it a
vigorous shake and as soon as the boy got a sip of
it he felt the the subside and some more sips and the
swelling started to go down as well.

Years back on a sunny early summer day I was working
in my allotment without a shirt and by the end of the day
I noticed my sholuders and arms had got a bit too much
sun and a rash had appeared on the skin, small pimples all over.

On my way back home I collected some nettles in a ditch
and home I put them in alcohol. I crushed them in order to
make the stingy bits to erupt and release their stuff.
I diluted & succused it up to C12 ..took it a few times
before I went to bed. In an hour I could see a slight
improvement. Next morning there was nothing left of the
rash and it didn't resume that summer.

Why would it be different for centesimal, other than being a ratio of 1:99 instead of 1:9?

I'm just saying, it's decimal. Sure, you can adjust. But you'd think a pharmacopoeia would cover both. There is little consistency between manufacturers and part of that is the different pharmacopoeia. And don't get me started on Yasgur.

Just as you need succussion with liquid,, so you need trituration (mortar and pestle forces) with solids.

??
No, they are the only recipes allowed for manufacture in USA for OTC sale and all the 30C, 200C, and 6C OTC remedies Boiron offers in USA are C potencies....from HPUS recipes.
Each country has its own HPUS equivalent (the US part of HPUS is USA)
Maybe you saw a different one.
These days you cannot see the HPUS unless you pay a huge amount of money. It used to be free online.
NO more for a long time now.

preparation of a C1

Post by pb000014 »

Are they from the HPUS, or the French pharmacopoeia? The French does C potency, but if I remember correctly they use 100 succussions per step.
The recipes, ie procedure to prepare from starting substance seems the same (extracts etc) , but not the potency methods.

You are correct about availability of latest copies of pharmacopoeia, I am going on copies from about 20 years ago. Anyone have a latest HPUS, specifically US?
