Thank you for your reply. Yes, you described my sx very well. I have decided to sleep in this morning and not go to work and I'm feeling a bit better this morning. As soon as I do a little of anything (walking) I feel lightheaded and the coughing increases. Today will be a day of rest. I don't remember feeling this bad in a long time.

Today I'm feeling a bit hungry even though I can't taste or smell anything. I'm also getting urges to smoke which I don't want to do.

It is very cold here too and sets off coughing spells for me. Strangely, I thought I'd feel better while taking a hot shower but I had shortness of breath in the shower. Probably more so from the exertion of showering and not necessarily the steam.
This is really wiping me out.

Took another Cina water dose as felt first dose began to reduce sinus pressure and lessen one stuffy nostril. Now sinuses open, clearer, minor mucus, moved to my throat, voice sounds hoarse, but overall MUCH better
Thanks Maria for that suggestion!
Have taken all those vitamins and heavy probiotics since this all started 2 weeks ago and those are good suggestions to do for anyone, Zinc seems to help lessen severity at each stage.
This wasn't severe just prolonged and at least not flu. Had no lung congestion, aches, pains, etc.
Since we're having a heatwave today in our area ;), will go out and hopefully not relapse tonight,
Susan

Hi, Deb
You're right: it would not be appropriate for us to suggest remedies. I would suggest, however, that you check in with a doc, because there's a whooping-cough like disease that's making the rounds. I've had it, the cough is terrible, and it takes a long, long time to work its way out of one's system.
If you have the same thing, antibiotics won't help, but the doc may be able to suggest some supportive measures that would.
Peace,
Dale

not homeopathic but my experience.
i used to get that horrid cough that left me gasping. it started during a cold but lasted longer than the cold.. one of the triggers was going outside and smelling my neighbor smoking next door. cold air made it worse and if i talked to long too. lucky for cell phones cause when i felt one coughing fit coming on i could just hang up instead of coughing in the phone since i couldn't talk to explain why i had to go cause i knew that breath would start the coughing. also four in the air when i was baking... any particulate in the air.
what helped me was raw honey straight, maybe a teaspoon maybe a few times a day , lots of warm fresh ginger tea with lots of lemon and if i had to talk or do anything that might disturb dust i had to wear a dust mask. went to bed with a warm wet cloth over my mouth and nose was the only way to get to sleep.
the last time i had this issue.(i use to get it every winter), was the year i got my bee hives. haven't had it since. and it was soooo bad. those coughing fits would leave me soar in the chest and my eyes watered so that i could not see. it was bad.
so become a treatment free beekeeper, never have it again

I would also get bronchial disaster whenever I got a cold or any kind of non-desript illness setting in. Straight to lungs, do not pass Go, do
not collect $200.00! This condition will last for at least 2 months with further lingering debility. Obviously a weak organ caused, i think,
by a year long case of whooping cough/bronchitis simultaneously (and I was vaccinated).. And later in life several cases of pneumonia
chemically induced. Never found a homeopathic remedy for the horrific dry coughing pain and the intense burning, always in the upper
right area of the lung. Get inflammatory states in that area even when not ‘sick.’ Often relates to a dietary lapse not rich enough in greens and too many carbs.

Honey has been used for 100’s of years for health, especially manuka. This has been discussed before. Nature does provide well.

Homeopathic remedies are great when you can find one that works, but when you can’t find one it becomes necessary to work with other modalities and nutrition
to rebuild health and cure sx. And I am grateful to know some of these other choices.

I find that a very strange belief.
My view is to avoid or prevent colds, take Aco 200C at the first sign to nip it in the bud, and to support the thymus with Moducare and salmon (not the antibody system with echinacea etc), and eat well - no junk. I do add a remedy if it is keeping me from my normal activites.
For the current cold or whatever it is that affects the bronchial tubes with post nasal choking mucus, does well with plenty of liquid plus mullein tincture to break the mucus. Also Ascorbic acid lozenges, total avoidance of sugar/starch, blood glucose control as needed, and my illness diet consisting of:
* Lots of dandelions and lamb leg roast with strong mint-apple jelly, and occasional half glass of good shiraz:-)
* Plenty of ginger chunks with lots of water and electrolytes.
* Latte as desired with whipped cream on top, plus blueberries.
* Plenty of Oil: coconut oil, fish oil, e-v-olive oil, Vit E.

Namaste,
Irene

Thank you Dale for your response. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, it's awful. I do feel a bit better today and I am using supportive measures that help short term.

Thanks Vicki for the info. Yes, one of the things I've been doing is raw honey several times per day. It helps my cough but only for a short time. I live in an apartment so no property to house bee hives. :)
