Tackling a Challenger
Hello All,
I saw a post on facebook calling homeopathy as quackery and its medicines as placebos. He even mentioned the Avogadro number and all the related stuff. But the person who wrote that is known to me for sometime and writes sensible stuff on many matters. His writings on Homeopathy border on distaste and that is the sign of personal/ emotional involvement in this matter. I have an idea why he has this dislike but cannot discuss it in public. He is an intellectual and active online and can influence many with his writings in India and USA.
But, I want to engage him in this and have a debate. If he agrees, I can invite him to minutus. Otherwise, I will personally have a mail discussion/ debate. This is going to be a long drawn out process and may last months. All your inputs will be appreciated. I will keep posting the progress of our exchange here in minutus.
Also, I have a question esp to Soroush. I read from his posts that there is a provers forum where we can invite the challengers for a proving session. If that is so, we can involve him in this for a personal experience. We can also give him an antidote should he experience some persistent symptoms of the proven RX.

You are going to waste your time. Generally sceptics remain so because of their obstinate, narrow and often delusional superior view of what is before them. They are prejudiced. And to "suddenly see the light" means leaving the world they are accustomed to. Few survive.
Best of luck.

I agree 99.99%. Perhaps, hopefully, maybe the emergence of LENR/cold fusion will soften them up a little, but that has not yet happened. Although cold fusion has been proven, it's acceptance by the mainstream has obviously not happened yet. And skeptopaths are actually very small minded, despite their superior attitude and pride in their intellectuals prowess, and are unable to do even the slightest bit of paradigm shifting on their own. If you gave them a remedy and their migraine evaporated on the spot, they would still insist that it was a coincidence, because the mainstream had not yet certified homeopathy as being real.

Well! Quite on the contrary to what the uninformed are saying, you should never back down from a homeo-bully or someone who is expressing an opinion about homeopathy out of ignorance, fear or malice.
First of all, anyone who attacks homeopathy by shooting off his mouth about it is an Atheist, and I don't mean that in an illusory or metaphorical way. It's an odd fact, which illustrates a real diathesis. The fear of homeopathy comes from a fear of non material forces. You will find, I suspect, if you could get a few of them on the couch, that they are all Lycopodiums. They are followers, not leaders, in the gneral sense. That is they may appear as leaders, but in reality they are following prescribed notions. They find strength in numbers and in credentials, and so you can win an argument by hitting them with the same, information that shows homeopathy is growing worldwide and is supported by medical professionals, political leaders and Nobel laureates. Establish your narrative and stick to it. You can win an argument by simply responding to their assertions with links to scientific studies that contradict them. Not hat they'er oginto admit defat, but I've seen a growing number of them slink off whwen confronted with clinical and in vitro.
The key to arguing homeopathy is understanding the central delusion that its opponents have about it and demolishing it with the in vtiro tests; once its demonstrated that homeopahtic materials have demonstrable action in vitro . . "in the glass", test tubes and the petri dish, its apoptosis to the central theme of anti homeopathy arguments, as the central theme that the case against homeopathy hinges on is that the materials are inert, which they demonstrably are not, as can be seen by biochemical testing.
If you understand what homeopathy really is, and you have some knowledge of the key literature, you cannot lose an argument.

As usual John, you cover the key points in a distinct and refreshing style.
Lycopodiums they mostly are - unable to defend their position without the power of the group or from behind a mask. Insults and denigration rule.

Perhaps it could be looked at in reverse.
I have never met a spiritual or Christian psuedo-skeptic - those skeptics who make it their business to attack homeopathy.

Someone from one of the skeptic blogs and trolling gangs or a superstitious Christian who believes homeopathy is the work of the devil?
