I agree with Irene. Some years ago I was bitten (on the face) by a horse. It was gory and very bloody. A local homeopath/M.D. washed the wound with calendula tincture diluted with sterile water, dried it, and applied a butterfly bandage, as there was no intact tissue for stitching.
There was never any infection; the wound healed just fine. The only problem I had was that it kept reopening that first day if I tried to talk (or eat). That was resolved with Arnica.
I can't say there was no scar -- but it's so tiny as not to be noticeable.
Peace,
Dale

Yes. And I meant to thank Irene for her input. Thumb is ok...not usable, but no pain, but it's bruised and swollen a bit. Thanks all for your help.
OMG Dale!!!! Ouch. With my skin problems I've learned the power of the marigold flower. And I love to eat them raw in salads w/vinegar!

Dale, are u a horse guy? I ask because a friend's daughter is preparing for a bid in the next Olympics. She is quitting her cushy job in NYC and going into the horse business. She will buy/sell/train while she's getting her personal horses ready. I'm urging her to really look at homeopathy if she wants a good horse or two for her bid. She really is a very bright young woman, so I'm urging her to study too... but there are honestly no pet/horse/animal vet homs that I've ever found for my dogs who can take and manage a dog case. I'm sure they are out there, but not my good fortune to meet one. The last DVM I started to use was trained by the guy (I'm being respectful) who trains vets told me that "medicinal solutions" as Dr. Hanehmann described them were "too much trouble."

Anyway...my point: If you know any real horse homeopaths/trainers, please recommend!
Yes. Mine is doing the same thing... but the Manuka is better than those transparent/expensive 3M bandages. It seems to just protect it somehow.
Yep...Arnica and Calendula have been my friends since the day I discovered homeopathy.

Have a good evening all. :-)

Michelle Yasson was a vet and did large animals years ago before become a homeopath. She works mainly with
small animals as far as I know but is about 2 hours north of NYC and may have part of her practice in the City.

I have known her for years but cannot say what her success rate is with animals. You would have to talk with her
and see how you feel about working with her.

Sorry, I'm not a horse gal (though I was as a child). The horse in question belonged to a friend. He's since been put down: I was not the only person he went after. My take on the experience was that it came from jealousy -- he attacked me while his owner was paying attention to her other horse.
I've treated the occasional horse, my latest being a case of cancer of the penis caused, I'm afraid, by excessive vaccination. It's a miracle that any show horse survives these days given how frequently and massively they're vaccinated.
Peace,
Dale

Believe me, I was not at all tempted to kiss that horse! He was an unhappy, aggressive animal from whom I was keeping my distance, or at least trying to. But we had to go through his paddock to get to the hiking trail we wanted to use. Needless to say, the hike never took place that day.
Peace,
Dale

Interesting Susan. Scorpio October 30th... I'm attributing it to "getting old" and not paying enough attention to what I'm doing. :) My meditation has been off track since early summer. Struggling to go back and start over like a beginner.

Scorpios are about to end our Saturn Return on 12/23/14, after 2 years, 2 months since 10/2012 when Saturn returned and stayed in our natal sun.
This planetary event happens 2-3 times in one's lifetime and is said to force you to face long/lifetime issues that your are ignoring, not addressing correctly, needs changing, etc.
It can also cause severe disruption in your life.
Supposedly, it's a learning lesson, opportunity to change one's ways, and by doing the right things, making better choices, Saturn should be benevolent once it leaves your sign.
It's been brutal for me, from the start it seemed like everything was caving in at once, yet ultimately became positively transforming on health, legal, financial and personal issues as it forced me to make necessary changes for the better. While not pleasant to experience, ultimately it is for the best.
The changes that one may need to make are ones that do take time, in my case the full 2+ years. While all are not completed, that attempts made are significant.
To all who are Sagittarius, enjoy your freedom now, once Saturn Return begins you likely will feel the pressure strongly for the next 2+ years and may be forced into action by events you can't ignore.
There is brief relief, from 6-9/2015, Saturn moves back to Scorpio's very late degrees and some reprieve during Saturn Retrograde in March 2015.

please forgive if offending, it was in no way meant as such. i was attempting to bring a little lightness to a couple of these replies to this post have gotten a bit gory for at least me and i guess humor gets me past the pretty picture of you getting your face bitten off and i believe it was Marie?? who plunged a clam knife in her hand. i too am a horse gal and i know the damage they can do if that is their intent.
i was just "trying " to erase the icky picture for i am one of those that hears in pictures and sometimes it just messes with my head

No offense taken, Vicki. Esther Sommerson in "Bleak House" looks at herself in the mirror, after recovering from smallpox, and says, "I knew my face would never be my fortune; now I'm sure of it."
Believe me, it was nowhere near that bad. I felt sorry for the horse. No doubt he would have preferred an apple.
Peace,
Dale

An event can happen close to when current Mercury in Libra passes through the degrees in one's natal Mercury in Libra.
Four days ago, Mercury was about 20 degrees Libra.
I know 2 Libras in a car accident, both have natal Mercury in Libra and was near their birth degrees on the accident day.
Today's Canadian shooter in Ottawa who killed a soldier has natal Mercury in Libra as does the TV actor Stephen Collins who went from beloved fame playing a pastor to scorn after being outed as a child molester a few days after Mercury in Libra passed through his natal degrees including firing from a movie role and his show yaniked off the Hallmark Channel. That's how quick Mercury Retrograde can act.
