Ebola - thought some of you would be interested to see this!!!!!!

Post by Rochelle Marsden »

Information about Ebola
Dear Rochelle,
The Society shares the global concern at the Ebola epidemic unfolding in West Africa and commends the health professionals and staff working in these areas at considerable personal risk.

For the good of the profession, we would urge members to be aware of the dangers of making statements about or engaging in discussions on Ebola via social media platforms. There are a few journalists who are currently fishing for ammunition around this topic with which to attack homeopathy.

There is no evidence to support the use of homeopathy in the prevention or cure of Ebola and to suggest otherwise hands our opponents a golden opportunity to renew their attacks against homeopaths and homeopathy.

We are working as ever with the aim of protecting our profession and thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Gosh! Does this society truly represent homeopathy and homeopaths? It doesn't look like it.

Many of our representative organisations have been right off the mark in recent times. Under the guise of "protecting homeopathy and homeopaths" they do the very opposite and weaken our profession.

Do they have any confidence at all in our bedrock principle, in our history of prophylaxis and treatment, in our ability to rapidly mobilise against novel diseases via symptom matching a remedy?

By all means, crack down on homeopaths making definitive statements that it is this or that remedy but don't try to hide in a corner with statements such as "We are working as ever with the aim of protecting our profession and thank you for your cooperation."

This sort of representation has led to the erosion of homeopathy's vital role in the world community and is a total disgrace.

At this time, more than ever, the homeopathic profession and those at risk from this disease need people who speak strongly about our practices and what is possible - and how to achieve that.

With WHO already having recognised we are the second most widely used medicinal system in the world, so much more should be expected from us but all our representatives do is trot out this pile of crap?!?!? Shame, shame shame.

Fran I agree with you. Many of us are getting fed up with the lack of support from The SofH and I believe Soroush has left them. They are just scared that the government will stop us practising altogether and scared of yet more negative publicity whereas what they should be doing and putting out loads and loads of positive publicity about homeopathy.

Absolutely.

Conflict will be unavoidable but can be turned into something positive and productive - and more will come to know about homeopathy than if the Association tries to hide and not offend anyone.

Constant appeasement has cost us, and those we treat, valuable ground and rights. It is only done by those easily intimidated who don't have confidence in our own practices. If that's the way they feel they would be better off resigning and supporting from the side as they are not doing our profession any favours by making us lame and voiceless.

Amazing. Evidence based medicine is helpless with this one, but whatever happens Homeopaths better stay out of it? I hope I am wrong about all of the above.

The email below does not work for replya nd write between quoted lines, pity.

SO I have questions please:

re "The society"
What Society is that?

I do not think social media platforms are a place to discuss anything, Ebola or otherwise.
But there is something called a right to free speech, whether the drug conpanies or AMA or AVMA like it or not.
So discussion in forums for homeopaths are appropriate as here, IMO.

According to whom is there no evidence for use of homeopathy in disease prevention?
Did you not read the Organon of medicine, Aph 141?
Did you not read Isaac Golden's work?
It makes no difference what remedy is used or what disease you are concerned about - per APh 141 taking a remedy can ONLY help make a more robust system which resists all diseases - it cannot do less.

AS to Ebola specifics, we have a 200 year history of exactly how to choose the most appropriate remedy to use to build resistance to the SYMPTOMS - not the disease - seen in Ebola victims.
THAT is classical proven homeopathy - whether the symptoms are caused by Ebola or by trying to sunbathe in moonshine.

You phraseology implies you have the right to ask for co-operation.
What right do you have to demand compliance by anyone in this forum, as opposed to merely suggesting?

And why are you not suggesting ways to discuss this sensibly instead of implying we shoud all go hide under a rock like fraidyworms (I like cats too much) ...?
If we ALL refused to be cowed, there would be no need for those rocks!

Namaste,
Irene

Absoutely Fran & Rochelle

SOH has been a lackey to the corporate forces in the UK.
It would behoove homeopaths to find their democratic backbone and push back strongly; i.e., getting united.

However, it is a problem that I see in the US, too, where so many homeopaths just want to live a nice quiet, peaceful
life. They cringe when the ogres snarl at them and retreat further into their closet. In doing so they enable these
forces of destruction and allow themselves to be used to destroy the profession. Wearing blinders has never helped
anyone or any movement.

In the past 2 years I recall reading about the ASA, an organization with no legislative power, placing great restrictions on
homeopaths commentary on their personal websites. It seems to me that the homeopaths caved in to this, further
strengthening the forces against. Further, there has been very little done to counter and expose the quack busters as
lackies of the pharma corporations.

It seems our profession needs a serious course in the history of people’s movements as well as one that focuses on the
tactics of success—none of them are based on timidity

Thanks for explaining.
I wonder - are they planning to get a backbone any time soon?
How are we supposed to fight for homeopahty if the representation is so wishywashy as to be worse than useless.
I am still awaiting the verdict in my own case, due by 8 Nov. I am sueing WA state in Superior Court to recover my right to Free Speech.
I think we ALL need to stand up against the tyrrany being thrown about. I could not do it alone, either physically or finacially, though I am sueing pro se, and I am so very thankful for the help of two friends in particular.
