I have a patient who with her last birth got pubic symphysis (sp?) and
wondered if this would fit?

This rubric in Synthesis, is under:
EXTREMETIES - PAIN - HIP, delivery, during - Cimic2 and AFTER - Hypericum3
However, unless she has pain in her hips it may not be the one.
Separation of the Symphisis pubis can occur when the ligaments stretch and/or
then tear during the delivery. In the texts, it is described that the woman
feels acute pain on turning or walking; the legs tend to roatate externally
giving her a waddling gait. On palpation, the area is likely to be tender and
swollen.
The usual treatment is bedrest and the use of a tight pelvic binder to
immobilize the joint - this relieves the pain and allows for healing
You may find some rubrics entering the word , other wise, see it as a
ligament problem with any of the symptoms included
Some remedies for consideration for ligaments include (from Hershoff, p.258):
3 Bryonia, Calc-fl, Rhus-t
2 Caust, cham, cimic
1 colchicum, guaiac,m kali-c, lyco, phyto, puls, rhod, seipa (weak ligaments),
sil.
also
Weak joints due to ligamentous laxity: (Hershoff, p.260)
3 Rhus-t., Sepia
2 Aconite, sil
1 acte-spic, bry., cal-c., calc-fl., caust., Kali-c., led., lyco., nat-m.,

Thanks for your comprehensive answer which I will print out and keep. I had
one patient that had it a couple of months before delivery. I send them all
to my osteopath who knows what she is doing and gives exercises that are
safe to do.
