Help Us Take Homeopathy to Washington!

Post by Vicki Satta »

Greetings!

I hope that anyone practicing or receiving homeopathic care in the USA will contribute to this cause. I'm really happy to hear about NCH's activism! I had heard previously by some friends I met through homeopathy classes and groups that NCH was contributing very little to educational outreach strategies and the expansion of homeopathy into mainstream American culture.

So perhaps opened up their eyes to activism and pushed them further than they would have gone without it. Who knows, but I would LOVE to have some help in paying my monthly practitioner and remedy costs. Referring and discussing homeopathy with friends and associates has become a daily ritual for me, so having even a mention to the American public via the DC crowd seems like a positive step to me. Hopefully it won't bring out the Big Pharma lobby, but they're out there anyway. And we have a constant barrage of homeopaths and their positive news on Twitter, so it's all good.

Please throw in a few dollars if you can.

Vicki

Dear Vicki,

We’re spreading the word! NCH has made great strides by lifting our voice for homeopathy through all kinds of channels. Recently we’ve done a lot to educate legislators about the importance and benefits of homeopathy. We’ve come a long way and have plans to go further. Now we need your support .

We’ve participated in Capitol Hill visits, Congressional Briefings , and many other events, including educating hundreds of influencers and lawmakers along the way. In addition, this year we were instrumental in supporting a petition to have the homeopathy entry on Wikipedia updated with accurate, unbiased information, something that was long overdue since Wikipedia had been disseminating inaccurate information for years. Because of our efforts, the petition far exceeded its goal of 5,000 signatures with a final tally of more than 10,000 signatures. Such efforts matter to the future of homeopathy!

This September 29 we will participate as a sponsoring organization for a Washington, DC symposium. This day-long, one-of-a-kind event will educate over 100 legislators, staffers, and insurance industry executives about complementary and alternative approaches to healthcare. NCH will be the only representative of homeopathy. The day will conclude with a celebratory reception honoring Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), a good friend of integrative healthcare, who is retiring after a 40-year career in the Senate.

Senator Harkin has been one of our strongest allies and has been a proactive voice in support of integrative medicine. Advocates like him have helped us open the door to homeopathic services being covered as part of the Affordable Care Act. NCH’s presence at this event will not only honor Senator Harkin’s enormous contributions, but enable us to reach out to other influencers. It’s another place where NCH can make a difference for homeopathy.

The NCH Board of Directors has already pledged their individual financial support for our educational and advocacy activities, including this event. We hope we can count on your support of these important initiatives and activities. Your donation will help us ensure that our collective voice continues to be heard.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. Together we are making a difference!

Donate Now

Sincerely,
NCH Board of Directors

Please Note: We will soon be moving! As of October 1st our address will be 7918 Jones Branch Dr Suite 300, McLean VA 22102.

Anyone knows exactly what is it that they are promoting in DC? Sure I would not mind to have my insurance cover homeopathy. But who will be a provider? An MD with weekend training? An ND with 200 hours of training? An eclectic NP? As you may imagine they all will be practicing very different homeopathy. It is silly to throw support behind any group until adequate educational standards are in place.
