constipation after hysterectomy

Post by Rachel »

hello everyone
i guess very serious constipation is routine after a hysterectomy. i have a patient who is suffering from it now. her doctor told her to expect it.
i put her on a protocol of Arnica and bellis p after the surgery. i'm wondering if any of you know a remedy that could help constipation as a result of surgery? i'm considering just sending higher dose Bell p and Arn; thinking it could be a shock to the system. but maybe there is a physical function here i'm not thinking of.
your thoughts are welcome. thank you.
Rachel

She was most likely given Dilaudid (synthetic heroine) or something akin to it for pain post surgery.
That is most likely what is causing her constipation. Ask her if her records indicate that.
In addition to her overall picture look at remedies under constipation from abuse of drugs.

[RECTUM - CONSTIPATION] - drugs, after abuse of: (11) agar., ant-c., Bry., chin., COLOC., Hydr., lach., NUX-V., Op., ruta, sulph.
Best,
Lynn

Vit B6 and magnesium.
Those are depleted by the great stress of such surgery and need to be replaced.
It is a nutrient issue rather than a remedy issue.

But later and ultimately you'll need to prescribe Thuja to her.
