re Allergies & Questining pxs

Post by shannongerrard »

thanx a lot for your suggestions, i have taken a full case, & as usual
couldnt see a clear picture - i have since given carc!

However, i do value your suggested questions, what sort of thing did u have
in mind for 'xyz' in your question below:
Also, do u or anyone else have any suggestions on how to get pxs to answer
the question 'describe yourself to me'.
this question always stumps pxs & im not sure how to get them to elaborate
on it, other than saying things like: how do u differ from your partner,
siblings; what hobbies/interets do u have.

Pxs nearly always laugh with embarrassment, say what do u mean & proceed to
avoid answering! At best they will say things like, happy, caring,
sympathetic, etc!
Does this mean they all need carc!?!?

Also whenever i ask do u like/dislike consol, they nearly always say, it
depends on who's giving it.

& whenever i ask do u prefer company/alone, again they say it depends or
50.50.

any suggestions gratefully rec'd.
thanx
shanny g

Hi Shannon,

How about saying instead 'how would X describe you? ( x being best friend husband, wife, children etc) you get some interesting insights in relationships too poss. maintaining causes

The thing about consolation is probably easier to ask 'if you are upset/ crying - how do you handle it ?

just some possibilities

Hi Shannon,

I ask the name of a best friend or spouse or one of their kids if this
hasn;t already come out in conversation and ask "Tell me how would ****
describe you? " "What would ***** say are your good points and bad points?"

Hi Shanny,

While not all of the observations that can be gathered from case taking are
verbal, those of us with humans for clients need to learn how to flexibly
elicit "essay style" answers, as opposed to "true/false" answers to our
questions.

Here are some references which may help you develop/broaden casetaking
skills

"How to take the case and find the similimum"
By Eugene Beauharnais NASH, M.D.
http://www.homeoint.org/cazalet/nash/takecase.htm

"A Contribution to the Judgement Concerning the Characteristic Value of
Symptoms"
Clemens Franz Maria von Boenninghausen
Allgemeine Homoeopathische Zeitung, Vol. 60, p. 73 Translation by L.H.
Tafel, 1908
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibr ... meter.html
many additional articles of inestimable worth in the "Little Online
Library"
http://www.simillimum.com/Thelittlelibrary.html

"Brief Directions for Forming a Complete Image of a Disease for the Sake of
Homoeopathic Treatment."
By Clemens Franz Maria von Boenninghausen
www.homeoint.org/cazalet/boenninghausen/image.htm

PLEASE read these references, consider them, and ask any questions on the
list!
Your questions are undoubtedly questions that many others might ask.

In addition to reading up on casetaking, and asking questions here, it might
be a good idea to either do "role playing" with another homeopath or
student, or (better) see if you can sit in on actual casetaking either with
a homeopath you admire, or possibly do some clinical study in association
with a school which runs a clinic.
warm regards,
