Can anything be done for a hernia?

Post by Carol Orr »

I've come across a woman who has 5 hernias caused by a surgery gone bad(they
took out part of one of her kidneys). Is any homeopathic correction possible?
I don't really understand the nature of what can or cannot be corrected.
Anyone know if there is a specific name for this kind of hernia? I notice
there are several hernias mentioned in Murphey's repertory so one must be able
to have an effect on some kinds of hernias.

Hi Carol,

All hernias are basically holes in a wall through which the contents protrude.

In children and young people, those are often the result of incomplete maturation of tissues that in a way have not finished developing to their full extent. It is for those patients that homeopathy will be able, to some extent and if the potential for growth is not extinguished, to help.

Surgical hernias, "hernia in scar", are the results of either sloppy surgical closure or weak and defective tissues despite perfect technique....sometimes you seem to be putting stitches in a wet Kleenex....a nightmare. The only thing we can do to help is treat the patient toward strengthening the tissues (and that implies more than only homeopathy) before repeating the surgery, often inserting prostheses to plug the gap.

Been there, done that.....

Joe.
