Good News - member list recovered
I had another good look at the Yahoo account I was given access to, where I did not see the Minutus group listed – I thought it was a dead end.
Well I had a better look and found that the Yahoo-ID had not been set properly, so I did that and suddenly I had full access to the Minutus Yahoo Group.
That allowed me to download the complete list of members and I am just preparing to invite them all to our new group here.
Each member will receive an invite that they can then confirm or deny – they only become members after confirming the invite.
I still need to know who to give the job as moderator to – If I hear no different, I will give moderation rights to the same two guys as before.
I have also setup the YahooGroup so that posts made there “should” appear on our new group as well (not tested yet).
All that is then missing is to fund-raise so I can order the special software needed to be able to upload the complete Minutus archives – then your group will be completely restored and running on a better platform.
It has taken a lot of my time and effort to get this working, but the main thing is it is now possible to restore the group once we have raised enough funds and I have run the script (that will take a few days to complete the job).
Let me also answer some of the questions I saw in this group and excuse my rant:
“I see on the rife page that old messages are only available with a PG4 program. What the heck is that?”
PG Offline is a Windows software program specifically designed to download Yahoo Groups to a PC and allows you to comfortably access the groups and read the messages. You will find it is much easier and faster to read and search the messages than online. Watch the video on the homepage of my website for a demonstration: https://groups.rifeforum.com
“And it costs $9 to do the download of the archive??????”
Yes, it’s amazing that you get to download the entire group's messages to your windows computer including files, photos, etc. and this amazing software for the price of a good Pizza to keep forever!
It would still be great value at five times the price, but I worked hard to keep the price as affordable as possible. You can also download additional groups on a wide range of health-related topics to use in the software, too!
The money is used to fund the health-related Yahoo Group Archive so that these archives can remain available into the future. A massive project that I have been working on almost around the clock for two months and is the reason your group’s archives could be saved.
By the way, if you can spend $50, you will gain access to the Holistic Pack that not only includes Minutus, but additionally: candidasupport, CrystalHealing-workshop, dental-chelation, Health_and_Healing, holistic-health, oxyplus, ozonetherapy, Recipes_For_Candida_Healing and SymphonicHealth as well.
And that is just one of 11 such packs available. https://groups.rifeforum.com/packs.php
I have personally been amazed at the quality of the discussions in these various groups. Apart from the two Rife groups I run, my favourite discovery was the “Vegan and Gluten Free” group that has about 9000 recipes in its archives (yes, I’m vegan)!
https://groups.rifeforum.com/vegan-and-gluten-free.php
“And are we to understand the group member list is gone? This is a nightmare!”
No longer, I now have the full member-list – Christmas is coming to Minutus!
“Please explain what it means to upload the archives after something is sent from ?????”
I have a downloaded copy of all the messages from start to finish on my PC. Using a special software that has to be purchased and makes a charge per 1000 messages, I can upload all the lost messages up to the new Minutus group - restoring the group to its past glory on a better platform.
“I also wonder how Peter got Soroush's and Ardavan's phone numbers to contact them as he wrote in another post.”
Carol gave me the email address for Souresh. His email address revealed his website containing his telephone number. I contacted him via Email and phone. He told me how to contact the owner of the group in Iran.
“I am not comfortable with all the costs that are showing up which was one of the issues we had awhile back.”
I am not your typical member. I am NOT a practitioner and have only once tried homeopathy in my life. I am a computer expert with an interest in Rife frequency therapy and microscopes (my other business is www.grayfieldoptical.com ).
When I learned of Yahoo’s decision to delete their group archives, I knew this would result in the loss of masses of excellent discussions and experiences that have helped so many people regain their health. At a time of increasing censorship of alternative medicine, I just knew that I had to do something about it – so I started working around the clock to rescue as many groups as possible, including yours. This has cost me a lot of time and money and forced me to neglect my own online business (https://gadgetheaven.net

I feel Peter has a right to be payed for his efforts, but since others
have also downloaded the Yahoo Minutus files/messages, it is incorrect
to say his way is the only way.

Hennie,
downloading the files is the easy part. Being able to process it properly and solve the membership issues was much more involved. The Yahoo downloads are useless for uploading to groups.io. You have to know what you are doing to get this all working properly.

Not clear on Hennie's logic here. How did my downloading of Yahoo archives that included bunch of junk files from groups I did not visit in the last 15 yrs and that needed special ?software - well - some tool ($20+) to even see if any of them were any good, diminishes what Peter did for our group?

Hi Peter,
I know. I meant to say that yours is a strong, but not unique selling
point. Go ahead

Why can't you transfer the whole member list?
Invites will lose the majority of our members and I think it more important that we make
it as easy as possible to sustain the group and communication.

Re: Good News - member list recovered
Unfortunately, one of the only limitations of subgroups is the inability to directly add new members. You can only directly add members from the main group (Rife). So to directly add the members, I would first have to subscribe them to Rife and then directly add them to the new group. That is messy.
Inviting does work and is almost as good – the members also have more choice in if they want to be a member. The problem with directly adding members is that a lot complain they did not know why they were suddenly on a new list. The invitations are about to be sent out within the hour.

Re: Good News - member list recovered
First, all these posts during this period of change should still be sent to the old Yahoo group as well as the Rife group.
If you don't do this you are only posting to a mere handful of people, maybe less that 12 people. That to me is exclusive
and inconsistent with good organizing practice and sustainability. I see you focus on your tech business but that is not
my concern nor that of the group.
Second, for over a month everyone who reads minutus has been getting our conversation about making a transfer so they
will not be surprised. No, they will probably be grateful they did not have to muck around with computer sign up nonsense.
So I disagree with you. I would like others to weigh in on this and ask everyone who posts to post to Yahoo as well as Rife group

Another argument against transferring the whole member list could be
that over the last 3 years (1-1-2017 - 1-12-2019) *all* messages were
posted by 165 members (out of 3000+, I think).
