Split Dose
Dear Rochelle (and colleagues)
I am not at all intimidated by your college head.
Please identify him (if you like personally to me) and I shall ask him for the justification of this way of prescribing, 30, 200, 1M etc. in quick steps (night morning night)
I have a suspicion that he is a FOLLOWER of George Vithulkas and I believe that GV has spread this method.
I am yet to come across anyone who can justify this. How can any one justify prescribing and remedy without analysing what the previous has done for the patient?

Re: Split Dose
From "The Homeopathic Approach to Cancer" by Ramakrishna and Coulter
Plussing: take 3 pellets of the remedy and put in 11 teaspoons of spring
water. The patient takes 1 teaspoon every 15 minutes. Between each dose the
water is gently stirred or if on a bottle, shaken once. Over about 2 and a
half hours the patient takes 10 teaspoons, 1 every 15 minutes. The last
teaspoon is saved for the next day when 10 teaspoons of water are added to
this original mixture. (do not add fresh medicine) Repeat the process. This
continues for 7 days after which the remedy is changed and the same procedure
is repeated with the new medicine. This system is thought to minimize
aggravation and ensures a more powerful impact. (based on H's discussion of
the fifty-millesimal (LM) potencies.
Split dose: for stronger impact this proceedure is used. Here the remedy is
taken 4 times during the course of the day, usually early morning, before
lunch, before dinner, and at bedtime. This proceedure is usually followed for
one day only (whether one day a week, one day every two weeks, one day every
month, or every few months) once the cancer has healed or is under control,
it generally involves a regular alternation of two remedies-and will
henceforth be indicated by the expression "alternating monthly (weekly) "

Dear Rochelle
Please advise what you mean by 'Split dose' and what is the logic of it and
when does Hahnemann or any of the other masters mention it.

Re: Split Dose
Dear Soroush,
This has been asked before and appears to be quite a UK way of prescribing. I was taught at college , so were many others to give a split dose of a remedy , which means night, morning, night. I tend to do this, as do others, when prescribing 30 and 200 potencies. The idea is to make sure that the Rx gets in and in case it is antidoted. I always tell my patients that if there is a reaction to any of the doses to phone me and not to take the next dose. The one I can't see the logic of is giving a 1M dose each day for 3 days which I know at least one of my lecturers does.
Incidentally Dr Ramakrishnan's idea of a split dose is which every Rx he is giving 4 x in one day.
I have no idea if it or is not mentioned in Hahemann or any of the other masters. It has never seem to have done any harm and most of my patients do get better!!

Re: Split Dose
We were taught the same at college too, for the same reasons: antidoting,
etc. Again, it works and I have had no adverse reactions with patients.

Re: Split Dose
Hello Rochelle
The reason to give a repeat dose normally 30 or 200 but also 1M and even
higher is that nowadays the client might be on multi-pharmaceutical
prescription and therefore the idea is to breakthrough to the clients system
and get a result. Similar to having to clear up miasmatic blockages before
we start to get a curative reaction from the clients vital force

Re: Split Dose
Hi Rochelle,
I was also given another reason for use of split dose; I *think* this is
mentioned by Margerie Blackie, tho could be mistaken. I was taught that
this is thought to reduce chance of aggravation, by giving a smoother start
to the remedy's action. The analogy we were given was e.g. if you have a
blender full of liquid and turn it onto high, you will get splashing. If
you begin by giving a few short spurts before putting it onto high, then you
start the water moving more gradually and there is less splashing (=less
chance of aggravation). This lecturer mentioned the issue of possible
antidoting only as an afterthought -- how likely is a remedy to be
antidoted, anyway? Not very, in my experience!!!
Have others heard similarly?

Hi Shannon,
Now what you are talking about I think is the ascending split dose of 30, 200 and 1M in 24 hours. I do this with Carc as I have found by clinical experience that it does lessen the agg.
