Why not Joe? M/E stresses can certainly change the terrain and
cause/contribute to inflammatory processes in the body.

Yes it certainly does, but there is an exaggerated tendency to input
everything solely on the mind and neglect the simple physical aspect.
IMO, you need an appropriate terrain to create inflammation (or anything
else) in general, and even more when it is located in a very specific joint.
We all have M/E backgrounds, so theoretically all our symptoms and signs
can be traced back to them. It has been my experience that by the time
we do that, material, physical phenomena are installed and often at
least partially independent, so they have to be treated separately or
simultaneously for a faster and safer cure. At least this is my way...

Agree that there can be too much emphasis on either end of the scale.
I find it useful to try and flesh out what the M/Es are that might relate
the physical. Often they are the ones that give me results when
differentiating betw remedies.

In my opinion: If you're at it in time (you = meaning the person
him/herself, or a good therapist) and can see what is going on, then,
with the appropiate measurements, advice, 'soft' remedies, etc., a lot
of stuff might be prevented from becoming physical (and maybe you would
need less Staph etc.).

The key part is "in time".......
