Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
Did anybody replaced amalgam fillings, can you share your experience?
Mercury, cadmium, silver are in red in the heavy metal test.
Does it make sense to do the heavy metal cleansing before replacement or only after that? Any links for heavy metal cleansing?

Re: Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
A few years ago when having some major dental work performed, I insisted
that any tooth to be worked on have any amalgam filling removed.
Dentist did use a rubber dental dam with continual aspiration of the mouth.
Never had any reaction to the process, just happier to have that much less
metal in my mouth.
My questions concern the use of titanium for removable bridges vs the
plastics that are cheaper.
Is there anything used in dentistry that is safe/healthy!!!

Re: Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
My disposition got better when I removed 90% of the amalgam. I did nothing more after that.

Re: Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
Hi,
This topic has been on my mind. Thanks for starting it.
I react strongly to the remedy Merc-sol and assume it would be good to have it removed.
Am worried about the expense. Am in Japan where such removal would not be within National Insurance. Have thought of going to somewhere like India to have the work done. Cost of travel versus cost of the replacement work.
Also, what to replace it with? Was assuming plastic which has a shorter life expectancy but that replacement would be covered by insurance.
I would assume that since Merc-sol is probably my "constitutional" remedy, it would also cleanse Merury. I assume that cleansing with a remedy depends on your symptom picture.
If you are trying to have a metal removed, you should be sure that you are sensitive to that metal. That is, the remedy MM fits your own symptoms.
Best,
Ellen Madono

Re: Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
Hello
I replaced all my amalgam fillings back in the early 1990's.
it would be in your best interest to have them removed FIRST, replaced with "white composite" fillings or ceramic, ask your dentist for the most natural possible, if they do not comply, go elsewhere till you find someone who will. Someone mentioned the "dam" in the mouth and that any other measures are needed so that you do NOT swallow particles during removal. My dentist refuses to put amalgam into any mouth!
once you have everything out and you feel you may have Sx then go for a heavy metal detox if you think it appropriate.
First is removal! Second step detox if necessary! You would not do an alcohol detox if still drinking alcohol...same thing with amalgam fillings.

Re: Heavy metal cleansing, amalgam removal
Yes I had more than a dozen amalgam fillings replaced in 2006.
I was careful to go to a dentist who specializes in these removals. It is NOT enough to use a rubber dam.
The entire room needs to have special extractors because mercury evaporates at room temperature and is everywhere to be breathed in - and the equipment also needs to vacuum it as they do it.
After that I did a Merc 6C detox, twice a day for a week.
