Provings by meditation

Post by Roger B »

Dear You'all,

I have seen some provings "by meditation" referenced. How reliable do you think that this is?

I have been involved where a plant was proved both conventionally and meditatively. I was surprised at the correspondence!
However, I would not want meditative proving symptoms to be incorporated in our materia medica because it is not possible to understand exactly what is happening and how reproducible it is. Yet Hahnemann's method of proving is well thought out and reproducible.

Thank you, Soroush, for those thoughtful answers.

I would prefer the standard Hahnemannian provings. But, I recall the old Theosophical explorations/investigations where they would have two people doing the investigations, and if they did not come up with the same answer, then the answer was not considered. It might be useful to do that or even to do provings along with a meditator.

Even better, specific meditators could be tested with a double blind test to see if they could come up with the same symptoms as what we know to be true, like with aconite or sulfur. It would be a test of the meditators, and then when you have a small group of meditators that you could depend upon, you could use them. I am pretty sure that a meditation proving takes less time than a Hahnemannian proving. But of course, all these ideas go back to the fact that the Hahnemannian proving is the dependable one.
