materialism vs. homeopathy

Post by Roger B »

It may be the case that it can be shown under a microscope or with some other physical instrument that homeopathic remedies change the structure of water or something along this line. But this is not going to sway skeptics, because it is very fringe. Most skeptics believe in chemistry and atoms and molecules, and homeopathy goes way past Avogadro's number, in fact getting stronger and stronger as it leaves Avogadro's number in the dust.

I say that a better strategy is the Aikido of debate. When the enemy says that it is magic or supernatural, just agree with them. Say "yes, it is magic, and homeopathy disproves materialism." Obviously the prana/vital force of homeopathy touches or moves the physical at some point, but in its entirety, it is mostly non-physical. Just agree with them. It is true that either materialism is true (only the physical exists), or homeopathy is true. They both can't be true. Since homeopathy has been working for 220 years and no homeopath has broken down in tears and admitted that it is all a scam, and since millions upon millions of people have reported being healed by homeopathy, it must be that it is materialism that is the problem. Let the skeptopaths say that it is just magic. Then use the energy that they put into saying that against their argument.
