I would say:

1) identify and correct maintaining causes (lifestyle, diet);
2) treat presenting picture homeopathically, with the bone issues of course part (probably only part) of the picture
3) then see if more is needed.
Or she could go the nutritional route, on which there are TONS of useful possibilities, but beginning, as above, with re-balancing her physiology and her life.

Vitamin D would be a no-brainer!!! Probably magnesium, possibly calcium (or tons of veggies would be better).

Yes the deterioration can be stopped and the bone rebuilt -- but it would take much more than hit-or-miss ideas… Is she motivated, and will she read and research?

Why "or" ?

With a deficient nutrition, no homeopathic (or herbal) remedy would be of any help......

I cant say what she will really do. She is in bad shape now and frightened.
She is facing her mortality. However, as a believer in magic pills, her will
to redo her lifestyle is questionable. Right now she is willing to open a bit
to healthful ideas. After surgery, if she comes thru, is another story. We will
have to see. Hoping to get direct access to her so I can give her some focus
and hopefully some remedial suggestions.
What is so interesting is that she is losing a very old and dear friend to cancer.
The friend has refused medical treatment because or not wanting to lose her hair.
But she also won’t do anything else. The woman I am concerned with is frightened,
furious and feels she can do nothing or the friend will shut her out.
She will not/cannot see that she is the same way with everyone around her.

Sorry -- yes, I absolutely agree. Don't know what came over my typing fingers. :-)

I think her poor dietary habits would be a major maintaining cause
and the remedies be only paliative. They would help. To be curative,
they would have to impact her on a deeper level; ie, help deal with the
low self-esteem and depression that has gotten her into this poor
state. Will have to see if she is willing to go that far.

I've used Calc-fl. 30c for painful cancer metastases to bone, but for a patient with a spontaneous fracture of the sacrum (from anti-osteoporotic drugs no less!), I used Calc-fl. 200c in water, as needed. It was amazing how well and quickly it took care of her pain.
Peace,
Dale

well we know those osteo drugs usually/often contain fluoride which
will weaken the bones within a short amount of time. poor patient!
am definitely considering Calc-fl along with some cell salts including mag-phos
