Internet book reference: precautions-in-homoeopathic-remedies

Post by Ellen Madono »

Hi,

A Minutus member sent me the reference below. It looks very valuable. It seems that the book is not available but the pages posted on the Internet go up to Sulphur. Some of the references are to people I know who are contemporary. I wonder what others think of the quality of the book.

here is a review by Manish Bhatia :
Subhash Chandra Gupta
Precautions in Homoeopathic Remedies
Subhash Chandra Gupta
Reviewed By: Dr. Manish Bhatia

Do you remember yourself looking for a rare clinical tip or some note about a medicine, which you read a long time ago? ‘Oh! I remember reading that Lachesis should not be given before or after Nitric Acid. But who said that? In which book did I read it? And where was it that I read about the contraceptive effect of Natrum mur?‘. Has anything like this ever happened to you? Well! I think it happens to all of us when we faintly remember some clinical tip or precaution about a remedy mentioned in some book, but fail to remember its source properly. This book by Subhash Chandra Gupta is a much-needed compilation of all those golden-tips, clinical-hints and precautions given by our masters.

This book covers 292 new and old medicines. Under each medicine the author has listed all the precautions related to that medicine, which have been mentioned in various sources. The author has covered most of the old and new works and the source/author has been mentioned with each precaution. Followed by the precautions that a homeopath must take while prescribing a certain medicine, the author has listed some clinical nuggets and therapeutic hints that are spread across our vast literature and are often difficult to find when needed.

In our literature, many authors have mentioned the therapeutic effectiveness of certain medicines in some specific conditions. Subhash Chandra Gupta has taken pains to collect such therapeutic hints and unusual cures and has compiled a very small repertory like index of the same, which is given at the end of this book.

This book will serve as a ready reference for finding all the useful precautions regarding dose, potency, remedy-relations, diet and other factors related to various medicines. The addition of clinical-tips and a therapeutic index add value to this book and this work will prove a useful reference source to every homeopath.

You don't have the book but you have the review. I know magic of Keyword searches. Thanks.
It certainly seems well worth having.

Best,
Ellen
