other people's pain

Post by Joy Lucas »

Some have mentioned Phosphorous as a remedy to 'soften' the intensity of
absorbing their clients dis-ease. Of course every one's sensitivity varies
but many of the Tubercular remedies have this intense sensitivity.

But one of the first remedies I think of for this is Silicea - with its
strong absorption AND expulsive qualities.

Absorption is such an important keynote in this remedy as is yielding. As
long as a Silicea state can yield they can usually remain in an harmonious
state even though they are still 'absorbing'. They can continue with the
flow of life bending this way and that. When they come up against a barrier
to yielding this is when another big keynote of Silicea comes into play -
obstinacy/stubborness. Obstinacy or retardation of stool, hair, ideas,
headaches, grumpy moods, abscesses and boils, even colds fail to yield,
finally the lungs become involved. A kind of stiffness sets in and ideas
becomes fixed (the practitioner cannot see the client for their own
sensitivity???).

Those of you who are so sensitive to other's pains and disorders might want
to consider this remedy. Also the expulsive qualities of Silicea are well
known and they might help in expelling the absorbed pains.

Kali Phos is also thought of in de-sensitising (especially used in hay
Fever? although I have never used it in this manner), and thus might be
worth looking at.

Best wishes, Joy

may also be considered, probably when the doctor feels the patient as
his/her
own brother/ sister.
With best wishes,
