Very OT: yogurt machines

has anyone used the Yogourmet yogurt maker?
what problems have you had.
my brand new unit turned my organic (expensive) milk into sour cheese and whey.
the temperature was really hot to the touch (didn’t take its temp).
used a few Tbs of a store bought yogurt make with grass fed cow milk, live cultures

I would try a pint of regular grain fed whole milk to make sure it has the problem with both types, grain and grass milk.
Once you make yogurt somehow, anyone know how to make it Greek style by straining, which doubles the protein and lessens the carb content, perfect for the Atkins Diet and ketosis! ;)

Hi Tanya,
just in case you are returning it ...
I have two of the old models from Salton. We use them since 2004, they do a fabulous job, never any problems, we use them with an outlet timer, and with a price of $25.99 each they are really worth it. The only reason we are having 2 is, when making buttermilk for say Philadelphia cake I need 2 batches

You might have to search a little bit for a new unit since Salton stopped making them.
If you like, I can talk to my co-worker, they are producing/selling raw milk and I know she makes yogurt, too.
