Maybe it would help to define your goals more for us? E.g., by "best
practice" do you mean best "style" of homeopathy -- classical or otherwise?
Because any suggestions you get here will be *very* heavily slanted toward
the classical approach, since that's the main focus of this list. Is that
adequate for what you want?

BTW, what is your background thus far in hoemopathy? There might be issues
you're unaware of if you don't have some familiarity with the field already.
(E.g. the split among classical and various other approaches, and what the
significance of those might be.)

What would be an *ideal* format for your trip? Do you want to sit in on
cases being taken, or prefer instead to just interview the homeopaths about
their methods and outcomes?

If you can describe as much as possible how you would like this trip to go,
and what sorts of information you'd like to gain, it might be easier to
direct you toward the people most apt to be helpful to you.

Best,
Shannon

Thanks for the questions,
I have 12 years experience as a homeopath, and have treated a few
children already with ADHD. I should like to sit it/talk/discuss etc.
with a few homeopaths. They do not need to be all classical or
eclectic, a mixture might be nice. Ideally I'd like to be a week say in
one town and visit a few homeopaths locally. Then perhaps move on to
somewhere else.
By 'best practice' I mean = do most want to treat the whole family,
just the child, do phone follow ups, only treat if not on drugs, etc..
and chat through these issues with them.
Does that info help?People who want to know more about me can always go

Dear Waheed

In homoeopathy we do not recognise disease by the names given to a set
symptoms by allopaths, but by the relevant totality of the patient's
symptoms.

So the fact that someone comes to see us with a diagnosis of ADHD or indeed
any other syndrome is of little us to us.

What you need to do is to carry out Hn's instructions and find out what is
individual about the case of disease presented to you.

A questionnaire will not help you become a classical homoeopath!

You need to inter-act with the patient and allow them to reveal themselves
directly by them expressing their feelings and sensations and your own
observations paying attention to strange rare and peculiar symptoms and
concomitants and modalities etc and indirectly if possible by the reports of
the friends and relatives and carers .

You need to get to the centre of the case - and IMPORTANTLY you need to
individualise.

Heather this is your original post, I have also seen you cross post in a
couple other groups I belong too. If you are still not happy with your
Homeopaths direction please find a new one there are wonderful homeopaths
out that that specialize in this. No good Homeopath will give you one
special remedy on a newsgroup. Look for a new Homeopath, maybe someone
local that can do an in person case taking and observe the child for
themself. Kathy

Hi there I'm Heather from Virginia. My main focus for being on here is the
search for homeopathic remedies for my son TY. Ty was diagnosed ADHD at age
5 and at taht time was put on meds. WEll just recently did I figure out just
how bad those drugs were treating him. so we removed him in September and
have been having a heck of a time since then. Last month we joined w/ a
homeopathic doctor but it seeems up and down and like she jsut can't get the
stuff right. Can anyone offer some help/
His symptoms are : irritability, anger issues, lying, eating allll the time,
hyperactivity, inattentive, bladder urgency.
I know about the vitamin regiment and fatty acid supplements, which we are
doing, also trying to remove sugars and put him on sugar free foods.. any
other helpful remedies that you know of?

Heather

We have tried Stramonium, Chomilia, valeriana, pulsatilla, tarentula, these
of course helped but not so much to make a difference.
We are on liquid health which is a mixture of vitamins for focus.

can anyone point me to any practice of info on treating a 13 year old with ADHD (inattentive).
Very bright but is distracted from almost any thing she starts.

She's been done a year on and a year off of stimulants since her diagnosis.
She's been on aderall for the last 3 months but about 2 weeks ago I started
0her on chlorella for it's reputation for clearing of possible heavy metals.

It should take time before i see results but i have noticed that since she's been on it the stimulant is
no longer effective.

any thoughts or suggestions?
