Hi
I'm new. Thanks for letting me join. I think my liver might need some support or detox. Or maybe my issues belong in another category, I don't know.
In short, my problems are:
- very itchy skin sometimes with eczema sometimes nothing visible just itchy
- other allergies - sneezing, itching, sore throat, etc..
- burning tongue syndrome
- very strong sweet tooth
- always hungry
Diet - whole foods, vegan, lot of raw. Vegan for 20 years. started eating more raw food in May 2012
no processed foods, no sugar, no alcohol. No medicines but I've taken several in the past.
More details
I have a bunch of allergies and was getting a lot of sinus infections. Was taking things like claritin, singular, flonaise etc.. in an attempt to proactively stop the sinus infections from happening. When none of those worked, I added zyrtec. I was hesitant because I've had problem with zyrtec in the past. Well I took the meds for a few months. Then discovered my allergies were reduced when I ate more raw.
I stopped taking all allergy meds and my skin started itching a lot - so badly that I couldn't even sleep at night. I've read about this problem with zyrtec. After several months of intense itching, I discovered that if I don't eat fruit and don't sweat, then the itching is significantly reduced.
A few months later, I discovered that in addition to being allergic to just about all fruit, I'm allergic to some legumes, and quinoa (itchy throat, watery eyes).
I stopped eating grains a couple of years ago because of intestinal problems.
After 20 years of being vegan, I started back eating small amounts of meat since I was becoming allergic to most plants.
Because of my strong sweet tooth and because I don't eat candy, I still eat fruit sometimes and when the itching starts, I take homeopathic urtica urens and it seems to help.
I've always been hungry all the time. I thought once I started back eating meat, that issue would be fixed but I'm just as hungry as ever.
In my readings, liver issues kept coming up as a contributor to itchy skin. I googled "zyrtec liver" and several things came up with antihistamines and liver problems.
I have had burning tongue syndrome since around 2005. Some fruit - like organges makes it worse. I just did a search for "burning tongue liver" and found a site that says liver issues can cause that as well.
Thanks for you help

Are you seeing a homeopath for constitutional care?

Re: Homeopathy for liver detox?
When people are allergic to so many things, as you are, it goes much deeper than anything a liver detox can sort out. Please find yourself a good homeopath for proper constitutional treatment.

No. Have not been to a homeopath for this issue - (consulted for another issue)
Have seen my allopathi general practitioner (insured) several times.
If anyone can point me in the direction of a good book (kindle compatible preferred), that would be great.
Thanks

Re: Homeopathy for liver detox?
There are many basic detox protocols. The simplest is using lemon and olive oil
and can be looked up online.
I received a detox protocol that looked interesting was not that severe from
Food Matters. It is vegan, uses juices and solid food. That site has some
interesting information
