Online Schools ?
Re: Online Schools ?
Hi Sheri,
In the mid 90's I took distance learning classes from BIH-UK. The tutor was located in Scotland and lessons traveled by mail. (This was before computers and the net.) The curriculum provided a solid foundation, based on the Organon (single remedy, law of similars, and minimum dose) and included the use of X, C, M, and LM potencies with dose indications. BIH-UK studies concluded with a DHM.
When computers and the net came along, the "Lightforce" list, with many helpful homeopaths, offered suggestions, guidance, and additional information, including David Little, who shared his advanced research on LM's and posted some it on his website. (Fond memories of Julian Winston, who was always there to hold things steady.)
In 2000, Lois Hoffer came forth with the "Hanamanics list" (Organon study) and many feel, do to her looooong term efforts, they have a much better understanding of the Organon now.
More recently Dr. Roz shared his work/research using Fibonacci potencies.
Dr. Will Taylor presented a case needing a remedy he did not have in "homeopathic pill form". He did have it BFE form, suggested it and successfully cured the case
Dr.Moradi presented cases using Dr Shahrdar's RV, (research) in an online class.
What am I saying .............????? Two main points -
1. A business/school/independent study provides the information. Learning and applying the information is the students ongoing responsibility.
After formal study, some specialize. For example: you specialize in vaccine damaged kids. I can see how helpful LM's would be in this specialty.
2 Homeopathy has three "Golden Rules"- "single remedy, law of similars, minimum dose" There are various approaches within the "Golden Rules".

Re: Online Schools ?
thanks for sharing - yes I was right there with lyghtforce and David
Little and Julian and Lois Hoffer Organon and now Ardavan and Joe's
new info which I have not had time to look into yet.
It is just hard for people new to this to know what is missing and to
know they have to keep looking and go beyond. It is very hard to
stimulate people to go beyond their comfort level.

Don't know what the curriculum was those many, many years ago, but I do know the current curriculum at BIH is based on single remedy, law of similars, minimum dose, centesimal doses based on 5th Organon, and LMs based on 6th Organon.
Best,
Lynn

Re: Online Schools ?
I can not speak about the teachings of the British Institute of Homeopathy USA prior to 2010. However, after that year, I had researched many schools in the US. I decided on BIH USA for many reasons.
The main one is the curriculum prepares one to take the CHC exam. For me, I feel that is important in the US to be credentialed in one's profession. In addition, the school offers the required clinicals required to take the exam. Although they are offered as a live webinar, I prefer to attend clinicals and BIH USA is about a 3hr drive for me.
The tutors, director, ancillary staff, other students are all terrific.
After schooling and credentialing, I know that the best homeopaths are the ones who have had experience. Face it, studying and credentialing does not make a good homeopath. It takes years of experience for that.
For me, this is the way I want to go.

Subject: [Minutus] Online Schools ?
Hi,
my goal is to be a certified homeopathic practitioner in the US and I am screening online schools for quite a while know, but still haven't found the 'one'.
This is what I am looking for:
- accredited online school for national certification (Moving is not an option for me at this point. I know I will need hours of Clinicals, too)
- 3-4 yr program
- comprehensive curriculum, starting from the ground up,step by step from the very beginning
- interaction with teacher and students, online discussions, online case works, study guides (assignments, quizzes and self assessment questionnaires at the end of each course would be a plus)
Would you mind sharing your experiences with me?
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Anja

Didn't you get your DiHom in the late 90's, just before Maria and I completed

You can also pick up some CHC approved clinical hours, on demand - very reasonable!
Student subscription:
$31.00 a month for one case At 5 credits per case, that's $6.20 per credit
$27.00 a month PER CASE for 2 cases. At 5 credits per case that's $5.40 per credit.
Observe CURED cases taken by:
Malcom Smith
Dr Sujit Chatterjee
Dr. Robert Gramlich
Jeremy Sherr
William Shevin, MD
Lou Klein
Will Taylor
Rajan Sankaran
Willa Kaiser
http://www.homeopathicsymposium.com/home/
It was much easier for me to do live clinic hours AFTER observing cured video cases by some of the above well known names. They each have their own "style of case taking".
I think there's a free trial case on the website.

Re: Online Schools ?
I studied with Luc DeSchepper for 5 years beginning in 1995.
After the first year with Luc he taught another 1st year class, then combined the two first year classes into one 2nd year class.
The year in between I studied with BIH, so I didn't get rusty or lazy, then continued another 4 years with Luc.
Between 1999-2002 participated in David Little's online class. That was the bulk of my formal training.
I have enrolled with a number of classes with a number of homeopaths since then including Will Taylor, Massimo Mangialavori,
Vega Rozenberg, Robin Murphy, Alize Timmerman and others to see how a variety of homeopaths take and manage cases.
Also participated in three years of clinics, one with Virginia Downey and 2 with Rob Bannan.
I now teach Homeopathic Principles strictly based on 5th and 6th Organon, and take the task of introducing Homeopathy to new students very seriously!
Best,
Lynn

Re: Online Schools ?
I do not know any school that teaches dry potencies or pre 5 and 6 Organon - the body hates two identical doses in a row, so why use dry potencies
