pertussis study?
Can anyone point me at a "study" showing effectiveness of homeopathic treatment of whooping cough?
The person i am trying to answer is not impressed by even reams of (cough) "anecdote" aka clinical experience. Sooooo, just asking…
Thanks,
Shannon

Re: pertussis study?
Your doubting Thomas person has no clue as to what 'science' is.
Observation is the beginning of all science, and ends, always, in the
clinic where laboratory machinations actually get tested in the real world!
Can't put my fingers on it right now, but there are data from the epidemics
of the 18-early 20c.

Magnesium can both prevent and cure Pertussis as well as Diphtheria.

Homeopathically? Cell salts? Vitamin supplement?
What doses/potency?
Any literature on this?

Nope, his understanding of some of the issues is still "a work in progress."
To his credit, tho, he is asking and reading and listening -- at least when / if I can provide studies! lol
Hm, data from the early epidemics. I'm guessing he'll dismiss that as more anecdote
but that's a good idea to try, thanks.

Re: pertussis study?
ask him if he also dismisses the CDC data which is based on
clinical cases collected?
you can also poke at his reality by noting the contradiction betw
the FDA/CDC/Big Pharma push for vaccines when the data shows
they were/are ineffective.

Pub Med also showing 2 more articles in languages other than English. If you have friends who can read German or French even better Swedish you may have better results by asking them to search their national DB.
Good Luck!

Re: pertussis study?
Victoria, thanks for both of these.
It's interesting that the abstract notes that "with rising vaccination rates" the cost / benefit may not make it worth conducting a full study. Now with most pertussis cases being vaccinated, I wonder if that equation has changed.
Thanks so much for your input!
