Soroush, everyone, ..
Recently, Merck has been airing TV commercials for their Shingles vaccine saying if you had chickenpox, you can get shingles when older. The same chicken pox virus, varicella zoster, lies dormant in nerve cells and can cause shingles, usually in later life. This can lead to complications from postherpetic neuralgia and I know someone who suffered greatly from the shingles nerve damage after effects and all the allopathic drugs/methods used. The vaccine is being pushed for over 60 years old.
So, my ?'s are:
Does vaccination make a difference in developing shingles?
You can have the virus dormant whether you're vaccinated or not?
The info in article says you can "reactivate" the chicken pox virus later in life that becomes shingles.
Does vaccination prevent you from harboring the virus, thus prevents "reactivation" of virus, thus eliminating the risk of shingles?

If you HAD chicken pox, then you still HAVE the virus so it CAN be reactivated.
This video says vaccinating for chicken pox REDUCES risk of shingles
"Once you’ve had chicken pox, the virus, called herpes zoster, lies dormant in the spinal cord’s nerve roots and can flare up during times of stress or illness when we’re older."
So, this is suggesting that NOT developing active chicken pox when young would be MORE beneficial than having chicken pox and supposedly "building" immunity.

Merck's data says vaccine 70% effective at preventing shingles at ages 50-59 where 95% of that population has already had chickenpox.

Has anyone treated shingles homeopathically with success?
You may be anti-vaccine, but when you get shingles pain, you may reconsider on this one.
